Hi, I am Julee. I am not new to water fasting. I have completed many of them over the years. However, I find for some reason, that I am not fasting as I should these days. My body is definitely feeling the toxic load. I lack motivation. It used to be so easy for me. Now I struggle to get through one day. This is not caused by physical withdrawals from food, but just because I want to eat. I don’t understand why it has become so hard for me to stick to even a short fast.

I am thinking that support would help me get back on track again. I went online to see if I could find any website that could offer that. I came across this site and decided to join. I am hoping this is what I need to give me the drive to get back on the health road again. I have limited time, but I think I could find the time to at least do postings in a daily journal. Just having to write it all out for others to see may be enough support for me. We will see.

My current goal is to water fast at least three days a week. I will call a day any 24-hour period. I will use alternate day fasting mostly, but I will be free to do all three days at one time some of the time if I can swing it. I did alternate day fasting before for a short time and did I ever feel good! I loved the energy it gave me. I am not holding myself to any rules other than just to do it. That means I can fast one day, or two days in a row, or all three in a row if I can. I will roll with the punches. Some weeks I may be stronger and experience more will power than other weeks therefore I think it best to roll with it. It’s best to go with the flow rather than to let rules destroy me causing me to give up.

I have heard testimonies of some that live an alternate day fasting life. Their stories are miraculous. I know that if I fast at least three days a week my health and energy levels will improve.

Today is Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Let’s see if I can get my three 24-hour time periods in before midnight on Saturday.

I completed my first 24 hour fast for the week today, Wednesday. I went for 24 and 3/4ths hours. AMPK (Activated protein Kinase) should have been triggered somewhere in there going this amount of hours. Also, I should have had some autophagy going on in my body.

I just completed my second 24-hour water fast for this week. One more to go before Saturday ends. Yippie, I am 2/3rds of the way there. If I make the last third I will give myself a star even if it does sound juvenile. I’m a kid at heart. Life is more fun that way in my opinion. :laughing:

Well glory, I have now fasted for my third time this week. I am at a little more than 33 hours in! I have earned a star for the week. I am so happy. Now, for more good news, I am not even hungry and I have no appetite, or desire to eat. Also, I am not weak, or have any negative side effects from the fast. I feel I would be a fool to break it now because a longer fast would mean a deeper house cleaning for my body. I know my body is filled with toxins and could sure use a good cleaning out.

If I can fast for 48 hours that would mean two 24-hour periods. It would also mean that I would end my fast on Sunday which is the beginning of next week. That means I can count the second 24-hours for my first fast for next week. I am giving credit for the fast to what ever week I end the 24-hours on. So if I fast for 48 hours and the first 24 hours of it ended on a Saturday, Saturday gets the credit for the fast even though I did not break the fast, but instead chose to continue on to a longer fast. Now when the next 24 hours ends, that 24 hours will be given credit for what ever week that 24 hours ends etc.

It would be great if I could manage a longer fast like ten days or so. My body could sure use it, but I have to take it a day at a time. So far, I have fasted over 81 hours this week adding up all three days. I am giving myself one star for every time I meet my goal. My goal is to fast three 24-hour periods for each week. If I fast more than that I will give myself bonus stars. I’m thinking to give myself one star for each 24-hour period that goes over the goal since it will be harder to fast the longer I go.

It is the start of the week of January, 9, 2022 and I already have one fast behind me with just two more to go to meet my goal for this week. Yes, that’s right. I just completed a 48 hour fast, but the second 24-hour period ended today, which is Sunday, the first day of this new week. Therefore, I can count that second 24 hours for the new week. It makes me feel good to know that I already have one behind me so early in the week. I’m thinking it should be easy to earn my star by meeting my goal this week, but we will need to see. Will I even be able to get a fourth fast in? If I do, I will give myself another star for that one because every 24-hour fasting period after meeting my goal will earn me another star. I’m starting to really love stars, lol. :laughing:

This morning I finished my second 24-hour fasting period for the week with one more to go to earn my weekly star. I made it with a fast of 26 hours plus. This one was a little harder. Although I felt just fine, I was so hungry that I thought I could eat a bear!

I am starting to feel some benefits. I definitely have more energy. I am grateful to this website for helping me do it. What a great website this is.

I smell roses in the air. They are coming to a post near you soon, I hope. The excitement is building.

My third 24-hour fast for the week ended a short time ago. I am learning to live with hunger. I wonder if hunger will subside as I continue to go longer into what I hope will be a life style.

I’ve been living it up this week since I am so tired of being hungry. Yesterday, I realized this is hump day and I better get my rear in gear if I am going to earn my star for this week. I broke my first 24-hour period fast for the week this morning at almost 28 hours in. With two left to go, I am not sure I will make it this week as there are only two days left after today. I could try doing 48 hours, or I may break the two with just one meal in between. I hope I don’t earn a sad face.

Yesterday, I finished my second 24-hour fast for this week. I had a short eating period and started again. I have around eight and a half hours left to go to get my third 24 hours in. I should be able to make it and earn my star for this week. This will be a close one. I was worried that I waited too long to get going. I would not have done it at all if it had not been for my beloved star calling my name. I am laughing because I let a star motivate me. Well, that’s not quite all. I do have this journal that I don’t want messed up. I also see that a few people might be reading this. I wouldn’t want to disappoint anybody, lol. All this helps, but seriously, in the end, I want to be able to achieve my goals. My short goal is fasting at least three days a week or three (24-hour periods). This alone helps me feel healthier. I know that if I can keep this up for a good amount of time, maybe even for life, this will lead to a greater health benefit for my whole life.

I successfully finished my third fast for the week which lasted around 26 hours. The week was a close one. I barely made it to the finish line, but I did make it.

During the week of January 23rd and 30th I was on vacation. I will be earning something for the week of February 6th. I am thinking of changing it up a bit. I will earn a rose for everyday that I can do a liquid fast. I have a lot of powdered chlorella and spirulina on hand. I have heard of some people who have gone for days and some even for months on those two health products alone, if I am remembering it right, and the benefits were amazing. I will not limit myself to just those, but would like chlorella and spirulina to be my main dish. I would love to do a 40 day liquid fast. That would be 40 roses for me. Can I make it for 40 days?

I have a new goal to complete that will not be a life style goal. Fasting for three days a week is a goal that I would like to make a lifestyle. My new goal for the short term is to fast for 40 days. I am too toxic to fast on water only for this long. I know I cannot do that on my own. I know I would fail. I can, however, fast that long on liquids. During this special 40 day fast I would like to include some water only fasting days. This would cause some autophagy in my body that is badly needed. I doubt autophagy happens when we consume liquids, but I could be wrong. I know many have had amazing benefits with liquids too.

Today is February 7, 2022 and I just completed 27 hours of liquid only fasting. I actually am still in it as I have not broken it yet with food. I almost made it a 24 hour water only fast, but I sipped on some lemon juice the last few hours so I cannot count it as such. If I would have made the 24 hours on water only this could also have been counted towards my 40 day fast. It would not have been done with juices, teas, etc., but water only. Water is a liquid and it is a stronger fast and a real fast compared to what is considered a liquid fast. Therefore, I will count all water only fasting as part of my 40 days. This fast still could be counted if I choose to start my 40 days yesterday, but I don’t think I am mentally ready to start it just yet.

Now for the good part, I will earn a sweet smelling rose for every fasting day whether it is water only or with other liquids. If I make three days in one week on water only, I will still award myself with that beautiful shinning star. That means that I can earn up to seven roses and one star in any given week. I am not making it a goal to fast water only for three days a week during this time. That may be a little too much for me when I am only consuming liquids, but I will welcome the water only fasting days as I am able to do them. When I finally make it reaching my 40 day goal I will have earned a TROPHY. I can hardly wait to award myself with that.

Also, I realize I may have some false starts, or in other words, some attempts at the 40 days, but fail to continue because I gave in to food. I will not let this discourage me. Instead I will get up, shake myself off and start again. I will not fail if I keep trying. I will fail if I let it discourage me and give up. We will see how many attempts I will have before I make it. Failures can make a person stronger if they choose to use the experiences and what they learned from them as positive. If they give up, nothing will have been learned and they will remain weak. From listening to testimonies of others I have learned that many successful people have made several attempts before reaching their goals. Those are the people who never give up.

Here is my one lonely beautiful sweet-smelling rose that I earned so far this week. I hope others will follow, but I think I will eat today as I don’t feel mentally ready to tackle the 40 days just yet. :rose:

My liquid fast only lasted for about 44 hours. If I could have gone another four hours I could have had another rose. I mostly just drank lemon juice during this time. I’m hoping my liver is thanking me. I know lemons are really good for the liver. I was very hungry and just couldn’t wait the last 4 hours before I ate a meal. Hopefully, in a few days I will be mentally ready to attempt my 40 day plan.

Well, I have officially started my first attempt at my 40 day liquid plan. Wouldn’t it be something if it were not only my first attempt, but my final attempt? However, I am preparing my mind in case I experience a failure. My mind is set to go with: “I can do this if I do not quit trying! I have only failed if I give up!”

Ready or not, sink or swim, I decided to start at 2:50 AM today, February 10, 2022. That means, if I don’t have a failure, I will have made it to March 22, 2022 at 2:50 AM. If I make it I will have earned 40 roses and a TROPHY. There may even be some stars in there too, if I can manage enough water only fasting during this time to earn them. We will see what happens.

I am working on a stronger mindset. Listening to motivating YouTube videos is helping. Dr. Pradip Jamnadas has some really good motivating stuff. One really good one by him is titled “The INSANE BENEFITS Of Fasting & Foods Your Need To STOP EATING!”

I am going back to one day at a time for now. We will see what happens. Maybe 40 days is too long for my brain to comprehend at this time.

This is the week of February 27, 2022. Let’s see what I can earn. I earned a rose for Tuesday because I was able to stick to liquids all day. :rose:

I earned another rose for this week. I actually completed a 24 hour water fast Wednesday. I am including that in my liquid fasts as water is also liquid. I am now in day 3. I don’t know how long I will take it. I am planning on doing liquids (not just water), Thursday. :rose:

I earned another rose as I was able to stay on liquids on Thursday. I have earned three roses so far for this week. Two days left in the week before it closes. I am now in day four and planning on another liquid day. :rose:

Earned another rose for Friday. One day left in this week. I am now in day 5. and am already feeling healthier with more energy. I am dreaming about making it for 40 days this time. Right now, my will is strong. This healthy liquid fast is a great preparation for a complete water fast. They are easier and safer to do when you have properly prepared for them. I can’t think of a better way to prepare than to take healthy liquids for a time before the real and true fast with water only. I think many times the failures come because our bodies are just too toxic to handle it for as long as we would like. :rose:

This is my summary for the week of 2/27/2022. I stayed on the liquid fast for 4 days, almost 5 but caved in Saturday. I was very hungry. Even though I wanted to go longer I know my body is thanking me for the amount of time I did go. My body thanks me for each attempt because the attempts are healthy too. One of the days was a complete water only fast. I am taking a few days off and then I will attempt again.

  1. A star :star: is earned for every three days of complete water fasting in any one given week. An additional star is earned for every day of water fasting beyond the first three in any one given week.
  2. A rose :rose: is earned for every day a liquid fast is done which will include fasting on water only.
  3. A trophy :trophy: is earned for 40 days of fasting. This includes fasting on both liquids and water only.
  4. A hatching chick :hatching_chick: is earned for every day a low carb keto type diet is adhered to. I know this is not really fasting, but neither is a liquid fast. I consider both just a step down from true fasting and they both are very healthy. They can help detox the body and help it prepare for a true fast. **
