Jessica’s Journal

Im so nervous in so many ways, I have been wanting to fast for about 4 months now since I discovered fast forward to health. I plan on starting tomorrow. Im nervous because I’m doing two things at once, quitting smoking and fasting. I’ve tried to quit smoking without fasting, it didn’t go too well. Eating and smoking, for a smoker at least, just compliment each other. So after a few failed attempts, I have decided to just do it tomorrow. Not one for cliches of New Years resolutions but these are two thing I need to do Health wise. I’m hoping fasting can reverse any damages Smoking has done. I have a fidget spinner lol. Hope it helps. Any recommendations for things that help fight the urges to eat are welcome!! Idk how long I will go. I want a 40 day fast but that could be too long. Maybe a 28 is more doable. How short is too short though? I want some healing in my body. I know you can’t get that from a 3 days, at least not much. Idk I’ll aim as high as I can go. I really dig this forum. A tad bit different from Facebook. Peace and Love Guys, I’m out -Jessica-

I think it’s great that you’re trying to beat the smoking addiction at the same time! Many people find it easier to quit substance addictions while fasting, since the detoxification happens much quicker and the urges can quiet down a lot in a few days!
Good luck, you got this! :muscle:

Way to go Jessica! You can do this. You are mentally tough and people here will support you. I’m doing Dry January in addition to fasting. Keep focused and know that the short term pains will be so worth the long term gains!

Wow dry fast, I can even imagine…great focus. One day maybe I can get there!

Thanks Anna! It’s right I’m about to pull my nails out but it is easier, nothing but water goes in my mouth, so it’s also helping with any weight gain I would normally see when quitting

Hey Jessica, you can totally do this!!! I quit smoking during my previous fast and trust me it’s very easy. The last thing you’ll want to do is put smoke in your lungs. You can do it :facepunch:! Feel free to reach out to me in times of withdrawal if you need
