I’m doing this because I’m tired of living a life that is being hindered because of my lack of confidence and lack of self esteem. I’m tired. This time last year I found about fasting and I did 10 days straight on my first attempt. I refed, then did another 10, refed and did 6. I lost about 30-40 lbs. I was in amazing shape but most of all my confidence was sky high. However I gained the weight back and more. And I’ve been struggling to get past one day for a very long time. I’m ready to break the cycle. Days of staying indoors and being antisocial because I hate what I look like is over. Days of feeling worthless are over. I’m ready to take back my life. Doing 12 days. 26 hours in. Let’s go
I’m doing this for my life

Thank you
We can both do this
Exactly that, thank you, you too
Let’s do this
The hardest challenge is after reaching goal is maintaining it. The Obesity Journal in May 2016 published the results of a study of 14 former contestants of the reality show, The Biggest Loser, after 3 years since they participated. 13 of the 14 had gained their original weight or weighed more than when they started.
Personally I can attest to this as in 2001 I participated in the Body for Life Challenge. I completed the 90 days and got great results. 2 years later I had gained all the weight back. It’s one of the things I’m researching right now. Studies say that the 2 year milestone of maintains is the signal that your body has adjusted to the new lifestyle and means it will last.
It’s so hard to get back into it for some reason. I fasted a couple years ago for a month. I did about 43 hrs per fast, refeed than back to another 43hrs. I lost 13lbs in that month. But I stopped, and gained it all, plus more back. Here I am, struggling to get to 24hrs now 🤦.
The key thing to remember that losing weight and maintaining takes more than a temporary diet and exercise regiment. Instead, it takes a complete shift in your lifestyle and relationship to food.
There are several reasons why The Biggest Loser failed:
- Unrealistic exercise regiment where participants have to do exercise routines that are impossible to maintain once the challenge is finished
- Caloric restriction diet used in the show has been shown to reduce basal metabolic rate in contrast of fasting/intermittent fasting where BMR is not affected
- Unrealistic and unpalatable diet plan where participants will not enjoy eating for the rest of their life
You’ve got this. Keep pushing!
We’re tired of going back ‘n’ fourth! Let’s change it!
