Hi! I am Hilal. I had a really bad relationship with food for my entire life. I literally have no limits and I can eat about 5 portions at one sitting without any struggle. I am 22 and living in Istanbul
I was the fat kid when i was in school, my weight was fluctuating around 75-90 kilograms in high school. I dropped about 10 kilograms in the first two years of uni and i dont know how, I did not do a diet or exercise. After a traumatic incident, I have started binging and I reached my highest weight which is 98.3kg. I have been doing different diets for two years and my weight is yo-yoing between 89 to 96 kgs. I am sick of the process so, i want to water fast until i broke the 89 kg barrier.
I have started about 19 hrs ago and I am doing alright so far. I will go to scale every monday.
Starting weight: 93.4kg 205.9lb BMI31.1
Highest weight: 98.3kg 216.7lb BMI32.7
Lowest weight: 68kg 149.9lb BMI22.6
First goal: 88kg 194lb BMI29.3
Ultimate goal: 60kg 132.2lb BMI20

Hi Hilal! Welcome to the forum!

I know binging can be a devastating trap. It causes so much shame and guilt on the inside and it’s very addictive like, but there is hope and possibilities to get out of that behaviour.

Many people here on the forum seem to have a similar experience as you in their past and are going on the same journey as you! I hope you’ll find this forum helpful as a tool to reach your goal!

I ate after 38 hrs. It is my longest fast so far. I will restart now and my new aim is to reach at least 3 days. I am kinda sad that i broke my fast but also kind of proud that i managed to do it.

Understood. Slowly build up that fasting muscle as Yas’ likes to say. I did 11 days of prepping my body (I.F. 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD). Then prolonged water fasts: 1, 4, 5, 7, & 40 days.

Hi Hilal well done for getting to 38 hours fasting. Such amazing job.
At the moment im doing OMAD and hoping it will be a good stepping stone to fasting.
Also it seems i had a similar experience growing up and having difficulties with my weight. I look forward to seeing your progress. Dont be disheartened and dont give up. You’ve got this.

Thank you for your support guys! I realised i can’t do a 10 day fast right away, and my body needs to adapt fasting.I was also doing omad but i was not counting calories. Anyways, I have stopped eating around yesterday 8pm. My new weight is 92.8 kg.

Day 4
I am in 44th hour. Feeling ok so far. I am not hungry yet but my sleeping circle became kinda weird. I cant sleep about 36 hours and then sleep for 12. Idk if it is about fasting tho.

I never heard of that extreme a sleep cycle before. @Yasemin @Anna. You ladies have any opinions on this one?

I never went to bed with an empty stomach until this week and when i couldn’t sleep i would binge and sleep. So, that’s probably because of my habit.

I broke my fast in 60th hour. New weight is 92.3. I was expecting more loss but that’s ok too. I will do omad for a few days.

Day 8
Sorry for not uploading. I was in a family event all weekend and I ate way too much. I have started a new fast at midnight and I did not set a goal this time but I will push myself for a new record. My current weight is 93.6 kg but i believe most of them are food weight and I can drop them in a few days.
