Helen's Daily Journal

Embarking on a 21-day water fast tomorrow! I’ve done many shorter water fasts in the past but in the past year I really haven’t been taking good care of myself so I’m hoping to use this water fast to get back on track. I’m going to use this journal to post my weight every day starting tomorrow and just to hold myself accountable! Thanks in advance for the support

Look forward to seeing you post your numbers daily!!

DAY 0
Weight: 142.9 lbs
Today I’ll be eating a small amount to ease myself into the fast.
As I get further into the fast, I’ll add comments about how I’m feeling!

I’m finding water fasting is really good for “resetting” my food tastes especially junk food addiction. I just prefer clean food more and more, and really notice how rotten junk makes me feel now I’ve been fasting regularly.

So for me it’s not so much about the daily numbers as the long term improvement…I guess what I’m saying is, don’t forget to appreciate the big trends!

Best wishes :grin::grin:

DAY 1
Today is my first fasting day! (I realized I didn’t clarify that yesterday was preparing so I edited it)
Not weighing myself today since the number will essentially be the same as yesterday but I’ll be back tomorrow with numbers
Can’t wait to begin and start seeing results!
Feeling kind of groggy today so hopefully it doesn’t last.

DAY 3

Already feeling hungry lol so I need to persevere and make it through today and it’ll get better! Just going to try to stay busy to keep my mind off food and to keep from boredom eating

Thanks for sharing! Hope you are able to find ways today to get your mind off of food.

I’m on day 6 of what I hope ends up being a 14 day fast, though I may do a re-feed in the middle of it (the longest I’ve fasted before is 4 days, and for longer fasts I do worry about things like sleep and hormonal balance). One thing that’s been helpful for me so far wrt feeling hungry/food cravings has been that I know I’ve got a lot of fasting days ahead-- so knowing I’m in the middle of a longer stint of fasting makes me brush aside those cravings, because I know I’m not even close to when I can eat. That might not be that helpful for the final days of the fast though…

DAY 1
So last night my family had drinks and I felt uncomfortable being the only one not drinking so I did. I’m kind of down about it since that broke my fast but at least it wasn’t solid food. I’m trying to look at it as a positive thing because now if I restart today as day 1, I’ll end up with more fasting days total. Disappointed but definitely won’t let this happen again! Waiting until tomorrow to weigh myself because if it goes up slightly j don’t want to be disappointed!

Thanks for sharing! Those social situations are tough, and I can understand not wanting to be the only one not partaking-- the questions and explanations can be tiring.

Great job not being hard on yourself, and getting back on the fast! Excited to hear how you feel as you go along.

DAY 2
Weight: 136.5 lbs
Feeling good today, kinda down that I’m less than two pounds lower than a couple days ago but it makes sense since I broke my fast. Hopefully I’ll start seeing more significant decreases!
