Hi all, I am new to the forum. I have been doing 20:4 fasts for a month now. I would like to do my first 48 hour fast for weight loss and metabolic benefits. I am 33 y.o. 140 lbs 5’5" 23% body fat, looking to lose 5 lbs. I am looking for buddies to do the fasting with, and/or support to stick to it. I want to start tomorrow with my fast starting at 12 pm, ending 12 pm on Tuesday in time for son’s 8th birthday. Thank you for your support and advice.
First time 48 hour water fast, looking for accountability buddies
Jump right in… @Yasemin is steering a ship load of us through Alternate day Fasting. I’ve joined that to see if its a sustainable way of life to gradually lose my last 10 lbs…
Thank you! I will check it out, appreciate the tip and support!

Welcome to the group
Thank you all for the welcome. I officially started the clock on my first 48 hour fast. I am going to start my first journal entry as soon as I post this reply as well. This will be my longest fast to date, so far 20-22 hours only.
So far so good! I did implement a couple of “training wheels”: coconut oil and creamer in my coffee (sparingly). I felt great energetically and emotionally. I had mental focus and I was surprisingly not hangry or even hungry. I did get some hunger pangs around 4:30 pm which is when I would normally have my last meal, so I put some pink himalayan salt under my tongue. I stuck to sparkling mineral water with lime other than the coffee I had in the morning. And I took supplements that were ok to take on an empty stomach and wouldn’t break my fast (even though I did break my fast with the training wheels). For a first longer fast for me, this has been a good experience. I’m looking forward to the next one already.
