Fasting for a cause and health!

Why: I’m hoping to reset my body and help with PCOS symptoms, overeating, weigh loss and anxiety. Most importantly, it is also a sacrifice for my son. I’ve committed to doing this for my special needs son in hopes that he will get a bit better. While it is unrelated to my physical health, I’ve been given a chance to win 6000$ if I lose 20lbs by March 31st. The winnings will go towards an alternative intensive therapy program not covered by insurance . I’m super excited!

Length: 21 days :zipper_mouth_face:, followed by keto and exercise (hopefully I will make the 20lb loss by then)

Strategy: praying, salt, electrolytes, multi-vitamins

Workout: none but I do have to walk 25 minutes up a hill on Monday to Friday to pick up my son from school.

Let’s do this :muscle:!!! (Last meal was 8pm 2/29/2020)

Thank you Vanessa!

The first day was a complete fail. I ended up eating eggs at 9pm. I realized I was struggling the entire day and now on day 3 (day 2 adjusted) I know why.

  • not drinking enough water
  • caffeine helps even though I’m not a coffee drinker
  • Perrier (no flavor) water can taste like a dessert😂
  • I can’t think about a 21 day fast… just need to make it to bedtime

I cook 4 meals a day plus snacks for my kids and husband so making it this far is incredible.

Here is to another day of fasting!!!

Not a “fail”, a “lesson”.

The struggle is mental!!! I feel good with occasional headaches that are rapidly fixed with water and pink salt. BUT cooking so much for the kids is messing with my mind…I just want a sandwich or a strawberry or pizza (my home is gluten free dairy free so it’s not like I have tempting junk food at home):sob: I can’t fail this is way farther than I could have imagined I’d go and it is only the beginning.

I can do it, I can do it, I can do it! Just have to make it to bed time and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

Good luck guys! Y’all can do it too. Just make it to bed time!

Just had eggs and bacon :sob: I wasn’t even hungry. Do I just start at day 1 again

I know exactly how you feel I have 4 kids and husband. Am at the end of day 4. Am aiming for 21 to 31 days.

Yep. Like the movie “Groundhog Day” get to start all over again.

:woman_facepalming: I actually love Groundhog day… definitely do not want to see myself in that position again. Day 1 it is. I’m gonna look at the bright side, I’m down 3lbs from start weight this morning.

Wow 31 days that is amazing. I’m having to start over but I’m not giving up. I want to do 21 days before March 31st.

Atleast you ate healthy and ready to restart. I almost gave in, wanted crackers and cheese. But remembered I can still get that when Im done

You got this, stay focused! I gave in because I’m not hydrating well and the kids were too calm ( 8 yr, 6 yr, and 1 yr old) :joy: I had enough time to make myself food. It was really all mental too

So start weight was 151 (I’m 5’2") and this morning I weighed in at 146.8. I’m down 4.2 lbs! Since starting March 1st and having two slip ups (eggs first day and then eggs and bacon the yesterday). The scale has motivated me to fast the 21 days straight I said I would do. 16lbs to go to win the contest and Day 1 ends at 9pm today.

Wish me luck!
