Sunday 3pm until Wednesday 1 pm
Shouldn’t be difficult as I’m working and 2 day fasts are now easy.
I am now on plant based diet. Mostly raw. CW 58, GW 50
Esther C Weekly 3 day fast
Welcome back!
Look forward to hearing from you since you were one of the successful fasters.
Continuing the discussion from Esther C Weekly 3 day fast:
Day1
21/70 hours. Hunger soon after a cup of coffee. What’s with that? Get thee behind me Ghrelin!
27/70. Tanked up on coffee. Should last until I get home in 4 hours and then quickly to bed. I’ll check in, in 10 hours. Honest… To all those trying for the first time. Fasting is like weight lifting. The more reps you do, the easier it gets. Earlier 24 hours seemed impossible (just missing supper was impossible). Looking back I see so many self created limitations dissolve.
Menopausal women cannot lose weight - busted
I cannot run longer than 5 minutes at a time - busted
I cannot fast 24 hours - busted
I cannot weigh less than 60 kg - busted (I am 57 kg now).
31/70 just got home . It’s 11 pm. If I don’t wind down quickly, I may grab something to eat. Woke at 4:30am this morning after 5 hours sleep. Bad recipe. Tomorrow I will do all I can to ensure no blackouts. Suggestions are very very welcome at this stage, since a blackout derailed my fast in January
Do you know what caused the blackout? We had a member faint at work but that’s because of her strenuous workout schedule that she refused to let up on while she was fasting.
No idea, but it seems to happen when I get out of the car. Probably too quickly.
I did a little research and came up with hypotension. I used to have lower than normal blood pressure until I was around 26. Since tgen it’s been 80/120.
Dr.Eric Berg suggests having a liitle salt everyday and another video suggested deep breathing. So I’m going to try that. Will report back
Low electrolyte levels in the body can have a similar effect on me, so I try to have a good balance of water and minerals so I won’t get dehydrated or flush out too many minerals while fasting!
When being still in the car for a while, there might be a shock to stand up to quickly like you said, since the blood pressure gets lower when fasting!
I hope you won’t have to experience that again!
37/70: Thank you dear Anna. I’ve been reading some of your posts and love your self awareness. Please do keep us posted on your progress in fasting and other areas of your life.
This morning I feel fine. I’m going to sip ACV-Cream of Tartar-Pink Salt to ensure there’s some sodium in my system. Also going to do a little deep breathing for 2 minutes every 2 to 3 hours.
Sounds as if you are doing better. The black out situation is disconcerting. I’m now on day 25 of a water fast and was down for 6 days due to concern of a blackout. The last day, I was considering quitting and did tons of research and reviewed my fasting journal. I realized as I lost my hunger I also lost my desire to drink water. I was severely dehydrated. I filled up two mason jars - one with water the other with electrolyte water. I continued to take three sips of water to one sip of electrolytes throughout the day. The next day I could stand without fear of fainting. I have completed 40 day juice fasts…but water is a different journey. My body is challenged because it is used to high energy glucose…now I’m in ketosis and I no longer have that vibrancy that I felt on a juice fast. I am very grateful for this opportunity because I keep my eye on the prize…healing. I love that autophagy is taking place and am willing to endue the challenges of this journey. Treat yourself with kindness, keep your water/electrolytes beside you at all times, and listen carefully to your body. You are doing great!
Electrolytes sound like a good idea, but I’m concerned if there are carbs. I’m feeling much better today. Hoping to fast Monday to Wednesday consistently going forward
No carbs in salt, potassium and magnesium which are the required supplements to address electrolyte deficiency.
Then I’ll have to find one like that. So far all I can think of is the orange flavored peditral which is what we give babies with dysentery here in India. That was 27 years ago. Now I got to check. Maybe we got better options these days. Thank you for the tip
I use Himalayan salt and I get the potassium and magnesium as pills.
This afternoon, moved to coconut cream in coffee for lunch and dinner will be just 3 Tablespoonful of MCT oil. Fasting on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Weigh in on Thurs. Will take a Magnesium supplement. Goal is to exercise, fast and no blackouts.
Day 1 : still consumed coconut oil in the morning but zero calories from then on.
No symptoms, no problem!
54 hours… Still going great
