Edgar's Daily Journal-

Sorry I haven’t posted, quarantine lock down has been insane. But day 2 of refeeding went great! Day 3 so far isn’t too bad either. I ended up actually having a cold but I am hoping it clears up soon, it isn’t too bad. I am working out a bit in hopes I get to go 100% in a few days, still feel a little weak.

So re-feeding has been great, and my acid reflux is completely gone now… I am thinking about starting my water fast over again. I came a long way and I would love to achieve my goal.

I have been doing my homework on this water fast compared to my others and noticed a few key differences that may have caused me to have a bad experience this time around.

  1. I was drinking too much water at a time, compared to drinking when I felt thirsty and occasional sips throughout the day like my previous fasts. I think this was the main reason for my acid reflux, tricking my stomach into thinking I was eating.

  2. Not enough rest. I often found myself doing something that was adding stress to my body instead of letting it heal and rest. I would move heavy things around the house, clean and move around fast for hours or even go help other family move furniture and things around. Rest is very important.

  3. Not letting it be a pure water fast like the times before. During this fast I drank green tea and took apple cider vinegar, in which I shortly found out that my body hated it. I know a lot of people take this without any problems but I don’t believe my body reacted to it well, and or maybe I was already feeling bad to where it only worsened the problem. Nonetheless, I would like this next water fast to be a pure water fast until I feel that I need supplements to help.

  4. Worrying too much and trying to research everything. At the end of the day I just have to let it take it’s course and let it go to work on it’s own. Overthinking is only going to make it harder for me.

Overall I would like to start back on my fast and continue pushing myself. At 5pm later today I will be officially done with Day 1. I am hoping I have given it enough days for my body to reset.

Wish me luck!

Nice de-brief.

  1. I too can’t take ACV because of my CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease).

  2. In the first couple of fast challenges, I saw a lot of people fail from refusing to crank back on their workouts and fail from over stressing their bodies not recognizing that fasting, by its nature, is stressful to the body. Lately, I don’t see that happening as often here or in the FB group. Either because people have learned and/or the ones that do are experienced fasters like me who understand to build up their body durning non-fasting periods and once they get into ketosis to freeze the level of their workouts and when they hit the expected detox episodes deeper into their fasts, to crank it back.

It looks like you will go farther this time!

Thank you!!! :grinning: I decided to start on it tomorrow to give myself an extra day to get rid pf this cold. I am starting to feel much better now. Tomorrow at 5pm I should be at 1 full day of my water fast.

Also one more important thing I didn’t do this fast was get enough sunlight. Sunlight has numerous benefits to it! I think it is important to get lots of it. I will probably lay out on my hammock a couple of time a day to make sure I am getting enough.

I get my daily dose of Vitamin D on my daily walk.

Yes! Fasting is as old as man. There are things we learn along the way to make it easier or more beneficial for our particular concerns, but just committing to doing it and paying attention to how you feel is paramount.
