Donna's Fastmas Challenge

After overdoing everything except moderation recently :smile:, today is lots of fat and back to carnivore. For the challenge, my plan is OMAD with some fasting days thrown in. I’m looking forward to getting back into the routine and feeling powerful once again. Not getting on the scale before tomorrow when I have begun the solution. :scream:

Day One:

Stayed off the scale. Didn’t quite stick to CV yesterday and I kinda don’t want to know. :smile::scream:

Today is OMAD. Also today I started a 30-day meditation course from the Insight Timer app on overeating and binging. I made a reminder list of a couple of aids for staying on track.

Day Two:

Yesterday I ate junk after my OMAD. At least it’s gone now!

Today, the scale showed a 15 pound increase over the past month. UGH! I thought about all this junk and overeating I did and just told myself, “It’s not worth it!”

I added that phrase to my list of reminder aids. It’s simply not worth the gain and looking puffy and feeling bad. It is better to feel strong, powerful, and in control!

I read a post in another group on self-care and this was the main point:

“True self-care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from. And that often takes doing the thing you least want to do.”

Today I am fasting.

Day Three:

Scale is down 2.6. Dry fasting since last night in addition to the regular fast. Will continue as long as I can, then will add liquid. Feeling fine so far. Did my workout.

This month is a big push to be DONE with the roller coaster. Working on emotional triggers. It’s time to simply eat for nourishment instead of other reasons.

Day Four:

Yesterday was OMAD, 16 hrs of dry fast. Scale down slightly. I decided I ate too much and I noticed my tummy wasn’t happy with it.

Listening to the course on dealing with emotional eating.

Today I am fasting.

EDIT: Caved and did OMAD.

Day Five:

Ate 2MAD, mostly carnivore. I am feeling the effects of grains on my joints, so it’s a good time to cut it out. Scale down a bit.

Day Six:

Scale down again, as a bit of a surprise. Had a good long chat with a friend last night that encouraged me.

Today I am back on track with fasting. It really is easier to just keep fasting instead of rationalizing why it’s OK to stop. Today I reminded myself of my tools/aids to draw on to help me. I have some yard work to do today, but will drink my electrolytes.

Day Seven:

Scale is down somewhat which I wasn’t sure would really happen much although I fasted because I have sore muscles from yesterday’s yard work.

Day Eight:

Didn’t sleep well, but woke up with an inspiration to pray over. Scale was down.

Today is my annual cookie day for sending boxes to the kids. :mrs_claus: I made all sugar free (and keto) hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, scotcheroos, and walnut cardamon snowballs. Now I have yogurt making and chicken thighs in the air fryer. I’m resting with a glass of green tea. :smile:

Day Nine:

Scale up a bit. Stressful morning. Not even trying to fast today. Tomorrow is another day.

Listening to today’s video. I’m staying caught up except for the live one. Can’t do long videos. :smile:

I had a question, I watched your YouTube and saw you lost 18lb just wondering how it is after you start eating if any of it comes back immediately just want to know your experience? thank you for this page love having some support!

Not fasting today. Company will be here soon. I’ll wait to post again when I resume fasting.
