Welcome to our little fasting community. Let me know if you have any questions.
Commend you for taking a BEFORE picture right off the bat.
I’m using my goal picture of when I was at college student in the best shape of my life to keep me motivated. LOL, it may sound vain but I use it as my Security wallpaper on my iPhone. Since I usually keep it off it only flashes briefly as I access the Home screen.
Nice gun!
I was so proud of that poster shoot. I was in that physical state for a long time, even right after having kids, I was able to return to my “fighting weight”. Then I got Lyme, couldn’t run a few years, became hypothyroid and started using daily red wine and carbs to help me feel less sad about many things.
I love the idea of FEELINGS and EMOTIONS becoming lighter, releasing, during a water fast. I need to purge some sad-ass demons.
Understood. In 2010 I was a healthy and active Certified Personal Trainer. Then I had a health crisis where I became bedridden for 5 years during which I suffered congestive heart failure (100% cured btw), became diagnosed as a T2 diabetic, gout, high cholesterol and hypertension. Then I had cataract surgery in my right eye a year later.
Last year I got fed up with my doctor saying I had my diabetes “under control” when my health was still continuing to deteriorate. So I said, “screw this” , did my own research and created my own treatment protocol which I began on August of last year.
It culminated in the completion of a 40-day fast that resulted on 12/13 with the Physician’s Assistant officially declaring me “medication free” because I had reversed my T2 diabetes to on the border of “normal”, dropped my blood pressure to normal, dropped my Uric Acid to normal (no more gout) and dropped my cholesterol to normal. Also dropped 81 pounds.
My point is the feelings and emotions will change when you see actual progress in the mirror. Btw, I took photos every 2 weeks. But most of them are not on the forum since I only joined in late October.
Wow! So inspiring!
I always find the first couple days difficult so it’s really great to have this forum and support and to be able to read other people’s stories.
Thank you for sharing.
Good Luck Deb. I have completed a 21 day water fast . I achieved some absolutely amazing things also in my 21 days. I am currently undergoing a 40 water fast but they may even go longer… It depends when my body tells me to stop and I am better again. listen to your body and not your toxins remember that !
Thanks Jay!
Okay. My life is too busy for an extended fast, so I’m doing rolling 48’s and 72’s with keto refeeds for February. I’ve been able to get to 155 doing OMAD most of January, but now feel pretty good about the plan. Psyched!
Welcome back. Nice to have a fellow entertainment industry person in the group.
Well, things sure went off the rails with this Corona thing! Finally finding my footing again. I have been terrified to fast because of the information that is circulating about it being bad for immunity. I think it’s time to just dive in and if I start feeling like I’m coming down with a flu, break the fast. But I can’t just sit around wondering if I’m going to get sick or not. I’m done being scared.
I am not going out to parties or anything crazy, I’m just staying in and fasting. I have an infrared sauna bag and it’s supposed to be helpful in killing bacteria and viruses in the body. I want to do it just to feel good, but it’ll probably help keep the yuckies away.
Whatever. It’ll all be fine.
PLUS I want to fast for a massive spiritual breakthrough, for the world, in hopes that this stupid virus just has it’s genetic code unravel so it cannot even hurt anyone anymore. I know this sounds so granola weirdo, but I’m doing it.
My goal right now is to start a 10 day fast and then check in with myself from there and see if I want to continue.
In a perfect world I would do a full on 21 day fast right now. Fingers crossed.
You can do this! Personally, I think now is a great time to focus on your health through fasting. Both emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I am on day 9 today. Ive never done a long term fast but it has been pretty straightforward thus far. Best of everything to you on your journey.
You’ve been around both here and the FB group you should know what to look for. The most vulnerable you will be is during the 1st 3 to 5 days as you transition into full ketosis. I’m assuming you don’t have a sugar/carb addiction which would worsen transition symptoms.
Good luck!
I had a career as a dj then ultimately general manager in radio for 32 years so I’ll join the “entertainment” clan here😀 And my son is a senior systems analyst for Entertainment One, troubleshooting movie and music websites.
