Day two - Maya

I was in school today from 8 am to about 4 pm. This made the day go so much faster, and fasting was so much easier. I had a lot of energy and no headaches at all! I usually always get headaches on the first 1-3 days, and they are unbearable, like migraines. But none today, I reckon that it is because of my Himalayan sea salt, that I have been drinking salt water all day. Usually, I would first start taking salt when I felt bad; If I had a headache or was dizzy.
About not eating, I have not felt hungry yet, but I have been baking with my younger siblings and it was tempting. But you know what, I can eat the rest of my life, why would I do it now, when I am fasting? There is no reason, this mantra helps me through temptation.

I haven’t weighed myself since the beginning, because frankly, I don’t want to focus too much on my weight, and more on my mental health and the recovery throughout this fast.

I have found a solution to not eating and how to explain it to my family and friends. I am doing a vitamin cleanse of my body while fasting, this requires fasting for maximum results. People understand this, because I say that I need it for my gut and allergies.

In conclusion, I am doing very well today, high energy and happy.

Thank you for sharing Maya. While losing weight is a big part of why I am fasting, I think you are right about not focusing too much on the scale. It can easily feel defeating. I think instad of weighing myself daily I might do once or twice a week. Otherwise I feel like I’m obsessing and not getting the emotional and spiritual cleanse that I am wanting as well.

I think telling people you are doing a vitamine cleanse is a great idea… that’s very helpful. People don’t think about it being a water fast then, so they aren’t as concerned and it “sounds” better to them. I may have to use that.

Thank you so much. And yes I am going strong, even though I have felt very tired on day 3 and 4, but I still going and I am looking forward to day 5, and I hope it will become easier afterwards.
