Day 6- Im trying to be strong!

Day 6.
1:35 pm California time.
I am feeling weak and my eyesight is very cloudy.
The hunger is not a problem, it’s just I don’t feel myself. Last night i was nauseous and also feeling weak.
I got goals!
I’m trying to be strong!
I’m taking my electrolytes, potassium and magnesium so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Anybody feel this way?

I will not quit!
I will reach my goal weight.
I need to get past this!

Hi, you are doing great. I also was feeling nausea this morning but I feel better now just a bit weaker than normal. You’ve got this. :muscle:

It’s OK, this happens. You don’t feel great the whole time during fasting, at least I don’t! For example yesterday (day 9) I was so wrecked I had to go home at lunch time and sleep, but today I’m feeling pretty good. Try to listen to your body and rest if you need to. And you are so strong! You made it to day 6, not many people can do that!!

You’ll have what I call energy fluctuation due to this fact. One of the ways our bodies protect themselves from ingested toxins is storing it in fat. When we burn the fat it re-releases the toxins until they can be flushed out of our system through urine. It’s the primary reason I do daily walks everyday is to accelerate the expelling of this crap out of my system. Hope the info helps!

I felt a bit like that on the morning of Day 4 (Super nauseous, and I almost blacked out anytime I stood up). I was taking electrolytes as well (salt and potassium), but that didn’t help like it usually does. I had some chicken broth, which eventually helped me enough to be able to get up and get ready for work. It may have technically broken my fast, depending on your fasting philosophy, but the broth was a lifesaver when I felt like I couldn’t even stand up without my face and hands going numb.

Having physical manifestations like that you were wise to end your fast. I’d check with your doctor to see if there’s something going on with your body you may not be aware of. You may want to consider a period of shorter fasts with ReFeeds of OMAD (One Meal a Day). For myself, I did 2 weeks of Intermittent Fasting and then OMAD before transitioning into Prolonged Fasts.

Thank you! I think you’re right. I’ve been doing true ADF for almost a month and felt great, and I thought I’d try a more prolonged fast, but I may just stick to ADF for now (I’ve already lost 16lbs. doing that). I may end up going to the doctor if I feel that way again, but I’m sure they’ll just tell me to stop fasting bc it’s horrible for my health, etc…It’s hard to find an open minded doc.

My own doctor is skeptical too. That’s why I now consult with an Endocrinologist who is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He’s interested in the benefits of Intermittent Fasting for his own patients. You may want to reach out to your local Schools of Medicine like I did to find a doctor who can help you.
