Day 2 - 1st Time Water Fasting

4/28 - Day 2 of water fasting. I made it through cooking lunch for my children. Last week I tried to start and couldn’t make it. I am proud of myself! I was about to give in and eat some crackers, the deceiving meatloaf I cooked, but kept reminding myself that I have the rest of my life to eat those things again.
I have a mild headache, but I am feeling positive and confident that I will get through the sugar and carbs withdrawal and feel much better tomorrow.

I am trying to set attainable goals so I will start with 7 days water fast and if I feel alright I will extend another 7 days. I want to lose about 40 lbs so I’ll stay positive, love myself and remind myself that I am beautiful and need to be healthy for me and my children!

Day 1 182 Lbs
Day 2 178.6 Lbs

Welcome to our fasting community!

FYI: Smart to break your long fast into 7-day re-evaluation checkpoints. I did the same with my successful 40-day and used the Zero app. The app will only allow 7-day max fasts but it was simple to string them consecutively.

Thank you! This is very helpful. Since you seem to have more experience on this topic, Is there a min/max of water I should be drinking per day?

Just listen to your body and make sure you take the required supplements to maintain your electrolyte levels: salt, magnesium and potassium.

Proud of you for setting on this courageous endeavor to better yourself for you and your loved ones. I have not embarked on a 7 day fast yet. I just completed a 72 hour fast today. Now I’m going on a 36 hour fast, so we can fast “together”. I’m in it with you for the next 36 as fasting buddies. You got this! We can do it!!

Awesome! Thank you for your support. Today is day 3 and I am down to 176.8 Lbs. my headache is gone and I am feeling more energized today. Not really hungry any more except for the occasional hunger pangs that I have managed to ignore. Staying busy with some projects around the house help me forget the need to eat. Congrats on completing your 72 hours. Yay! We are beautiful and strong. We got this!
I am rewarding myself with a beautiful pair of gold earrings if I complete 21! eyes on the prize! No more food rewards!

Yay!! It helps to see that progress to keep motivated and I love that you have a reward to look forward to with the gold earrings. My reward is to upgrade my Fitbit and get a new tracker when I reach my weight loss goal. You’re right, we ARE beautiful and strong! We got this. Keep going, it’s one day at a time…one hour at a time sometimes, too. :clap:t4::hugs::pray:t4:

4/30 - Day 4 of water fasting. I am feeling great today! No hunger, no headache, no lightheaded.
I just finished cooking Mongolian beef and rice for my children and didn’t even had a desire to try it. My stomach is still growling during lunch and dinner, but I know is out of habit. I feel that for the first time I am really changing my relationship with food. I am looking forward to completing today’s fast! Focusing on one day at a time!

Initial Weight:182
Day 4: 173.6
Goal: 135

Hi lmain1978!
I just read your post, wow! So amazing :muscle:t4::clap:t4::clap:t4:
I am doing well. I am back on a time restricted eating schedule, doing OMAD until this weekend.

I love what you said:

I felt that way, too during my 72 hour fast. It’s like the pressure was off, so the obsession with food dissipated. I’m still working on it, but feeling that for the first time in a long time encouraged me and gave me hope that I’m on the right path.

I’m fasting now til tomorrow at 1 pm, and then I’ll be fasting 24 hours with you this Sunday into Monday. But it’s exactly like you said, gotta focus on one day at a time. You keep going, you’re killing it! :clap:t4::sparkling_heart::100:
