Claire's Daily Journal March 2020

So yesterday was my last meal 29 of Feb.
So this is day 1!
I am okay, no keto flue yet. I do have some hunger pangs.
Drinking sparkle water.
My goal: able to fit a size 42 and have loads of energy.
My reason: i want to live pain free without any inflammation. Changing my insulin levels.

I am scared about gaining weight back. Happy Yasemin talked about this during the live youtube video.
My original weight was 135 kilo
My starting weight day 1 on this fast 105 kilo
My goal weight 85 kilo

Day 2 has started over here.
I am feeling thirsty and a bit of flimsy . Gonna take my electrolytes and salt throughout the day.
Yesterday evening was difficult. I found several reasons in my head to eat. I did walk to my fridge opened it and closed it again.
I do have an important meeting today and I don’t want to feel off. Hey. Staying strong and hope I feel better after the intake of electrolytes

Keep going!! You’re doing awesome. I had some temptation just now and I opened the pantry and Yasemin’s words were repeating in my head. “Think of 5 reasons you want to quit.” Another one is, “We’re all doing this together, what makes you so special?” & I kept telling myself over and over “what makes you so special?” So I walked away and drank some water. What is breaking your fast doing, really? It’s just slowing down the process and you’re gonna he disappointed in yourself after. Just keep doing it!

Well, one of the reasons of quitting would be fulfilling my desire to eat :joy:

Day two has ended! Im now 50 hours in and finally going to bed. Just one hunger wave I needed to battle. I went doing the laundry. Jeeej.
Took salt by the flakes and not in water. I feel better then my last fast.
Also very bored. Its like a gentle boredom this fasting.

Day 3 has started over here. I’m now 61 hours in. Last time I failed at 70 something hours so I believe this is my hardest day.
I’m doing this to heal my gut and loose some more weight. I’m looking forward to weighing under 100 kilo’s and to get inflammation down. I do have some stomach problems at the moment. Lot’s of growling and some loose stool. I know this is a phase of the fast, sadly enough I have a day at work. Bringing some soft toilet paper and not trusting a fart!

Lol :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: That’s funny

Ending my day 3. In bed now…feeling cold even i have the heated blanket on…i am sticking with thr fast. No need for ending. My head feels bright and wide awake. Full of energy. I feel okay. Hoping tomorrow will be fine also. I take my electrolytes at breakfast with the kids. This morning I woke up with a vague headache which disappeared after the electrolyte drink. Now I just remembered I forgot my magnesium so I’m getting out now and get them! Taking it day by day works for me. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Night people!

Day 4! i have made it to day 4! yeaaaah 86 hours in peeps
OK, i wake up every morning with a slight headache
Then after taking the pill with electrolytes a bit better.
But I do feel the best if i keep on dipping my finger into salt.
I did a hike this morning with my dog in the country fields of Holland.
Then afterwards felt also a bit off. I need to remember to bring salt water or electrolyte drinks when exercising! Now I’m home doing all the chores and work on the laptop and feeling bright as ever.
I do feel that fasting is a big KINGDOM OF BOREDOM.
Pfff soooo boring not eating. I love eating.
(not gonna go there with my head)
So I’m gonna make a list of things I want to do instead of eating so I keep myself busy.
I think I’m gonna get the sewing machine out and fix the curtains for my camper van.
In between I can do some work on the website.
And I’m still feeling cold! I am waiting for that flush of heat I experienced on another extended fast.
The longest I ever did was a 5 and half day fast and now I do want to take it much longer.
I am telling my body to eat my fat cells. Go eat FAT!

I had to quit yesterday. Almost five days by two hours. Anyway the nurse told me that fasting for so long right now is not adviced due to the immune suppression while fasting and the corona virus. I am challenged because i have a lower immune system due to my illness. Gonna be taking it to omad. And then see if i can join later on after the virus has settled

So. I had a deep dive into fasting science but didn’t find good evidence about being more immune suppressed when fasting? If anybody has more science about it I would love to hear. After yesterday’s infusion I did a refeed of 24 hours. And now back on fasting. Let’s see how this one goes!

@Anna. I think this question is for you and welcome back!

Thank you, I feel so welcome and supported by this group

You might have read this already, but I figured I could link it if you haven’t.
Fasting has been observed to cause profound changes in the immune system in some studies, but these studies have been conducted primarily in mice.

I know that Dr Alan Goldhamer talked last year about them currently doing studies about this, but I haven’t seen any published data yet! :cherry_blossom:

This is in line with Dr Valter Longo’s work in reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy on patients who toughened up through fasting.
