Day 1 completed :raised_hands:t2:
First 24 hours: Woke up hungry but filled with energy. I have so many projects to do right now that having the extra time from not having lunch was great.

I have “lost” 1.1 pound. Let’s see how the next days will be.
Feeling: energized but hungry :upside_down_face:

I am reaching for at least 5 days. I know it’s not a lot compared to other people who have done 21 days, but I have only done intermittent fasting so I don’t want to have a huge goal that I am not sure I’ll achieve. Specially because from what I’ve read, the first 5 are the worst, so hopefully I can extend that.

That’s the best way to approach it is by building up your fasting muscle.
I started with a 4-day. Then progressed to 5, 7 and 40. I only tackled the 40-day after I recruited an endocrinologist from the University of Southern California’s Medical School to consult with as my primary doctor proved skeptical.

Day 2: :white_check_mark:

Lost 2.4 pounds on day two. Totaling 3.5lbs.
I am very happy with the results, but I’m feeling quite irritated and a bit nauseous. The irritated part might have escalated because of some group projects that did not go well, but that is life.
Doing this during the lock-down is certainly a good thing, I think I wouldn’t be as strong if I had to see food in front of me, instagram seems to be quite enough :joy: however, because I live alone, it is hard to keep my mind busy (even with projects and deadlines).
I started on Sunday, so technically today is day 3. But I’m only 51 hours in my fast.

Day 3 :white_check_mark:
73 hours of water fasting.
I’ve now lost 5.5lbs and 1.98 lbs from yesterday.

My mood is much better today. Meditation really helped last night, and I realized that I’m much more sensitive now than before water fasting. I felt really nauseous yesterday night, because of a tea I prepared, the smell for some reason didn’t make me feel good.

But this morning my hunger pains were better and I was able to see my friends eating over zoom without having crazy “rethinking”.

Also, I am way more productive today than the past days.

Day 4 :white_check_mark:
95 hours into water fasting
Lost 7.27 pounds so far, 1.54 lbs in the past day.
Feeling tired since I didn’t get much sleep last night, had a celebration with my family via FaceTime and ended up sleeping at 4 (time change and all) + had an early class. But other than that I’m feeling good. The hunger pains are practically gone and I still can’t believe I’m entering the 5th day. It feels quite surreal.
I have decided to reach 7 days, since I’m doing so well.

Day 5 :white_check_mark: and I am SO HAPPY
120 hours of water fasting :tada:
Lost 9 pounds in total and 1.76 in the past day!

I woke up very happy and energised today! I can’t believe I’ve reached this goal! As I mentioned previously, I was waiting to see how I would be in the 5th day to re-evaluate if I should or not continue. I’ve decided to complete the day and stay fasting until Sunday. I have a lot of work to do today and cooking and thinking about breaking the fast would consume time that I don’t have.
I am so proud of myself! I still have 26 pounds to my goal weight, but I think this has been a great way to motivate me to continue later on and to have a push start on my weight loss.

Day 6 :white_check_mark:
144 hours completed
I’ve lost 10.3 pounds in total and 1.32 pounds in the last day.

Felt good this morning as I had around 8 hours of sleep. But later when I went to clean my flat, I felt so exhausted I had to sit down. I’m just going to keep my movements slow and calm, since tomorrow is my last day!

Day 7 :white_check_mark:
Completed my 7-day fast!!! So happy and proud of myself!

Lost 11.24 pounds during this past week and I feel way more conscious about what I eat in general. I went to the supermarket yesterday to buy food for my refeeding, and none of the crips, ice creams and biscuits made me tempted.
I could have gone up to 10, perhaps 14 days, but as I live alone and my friends are all in their homes in quarantine, I don’t think it would be a very responsible choice. I’ll do OMAD from now on, since I still want to lose more 19lbs.
I was specially happy with how I’m no longer swollen and feeling “heavy”. Not to mention that I’m sleeping much better. I wish I could go get my blood tested to see if it got better, but since I intend to keep eating healthy I imagine it will show a difference.
Initial weight: 71.6 / 157.8lbs
Current weight: 66.4kg / 147.4lbs

What a great achievement! Excited to hear how OMAD works for you. Will you post? I think I may go that route as well.

Thank you!!!

I’m thinking of doing a weekly update. Since I am not going to continue weighing myself everyday like I was doing during this week (it can kind of stress me out haha).

But I’ll do a weekly update then! Thank you for motivating me!
The goal is to leave this quarantine better than when I came in. :relieved:
