Cadence's Fasting Journey

I’m starting a Water Fast tomorrow, my goal for now is 40 days. I will step on the scale in the morning and report my progress here, as well as journal a bit along the journey. I hope posting here will motivate me and keep me accountable. Wish me luck! :heart:

Welcome to our fasting community @Cadence, I am currently doing a rolling fast for 5 days, then refeed and start again with @Mandy. I am fasting every day so I can encourage you when I can. Do you have experience fasting? If not might be best to build up to it. Anyway I’m here and I will support you in this challenge.:pray:t4:

Hey @Overcomer! Rolling fast, never heard of that, but that sounds nice! So that means you refeed on the weekends and then fast during the week?
I do have some experience with fasting, a few days here and there, I did a one week and a two week fast in recent months, but now I want to go all the way.

Day 1: July 7, 2022

Weight: 127.o kg / 280.o lbs
BMI: 37.1

I’m feeling quite excited for this extended fast. When I woke up I listened to a guided meditation for fasting and then went for a short walk. Drinking my water and maybe later I’ll make some before pictures of my body. So it’s going well so far. :sweat_smile:

You are welcome @Cadence, rolling fasts is not eating at the weekends, once you decide how many days for, in my case I am currently doing 5 days, I fast for 5 days and then eat for maybe a couple of hours and start fasting again the same day for another 5 days, so only break to eat after completing 5 days and fast again the same day.

Day 1: Update

First day went great, didn’t feel much hunger. I had 3 liters of water and in the evening a bit of apple cider vinegar and a green tea with lemon juice. I’ve just done an enema and drank coconut water kefir afterwards for probiotics. I mostly relaxed today, but throughout the day I jumped a bit on the mini trampoline.

All in all, I think it went really well. I made some before pictures and am really really excited to see the progress! Also, it helps a lot to write here! Good Night! :heart:

We started in May with 4 days rolling fasts.

Day 2: July 8, 2022

Weight: 125.o kg / 275.6 lbs
BMI: 36.5
Loss: 2.o kg / 4.4 lbs

I had a hard time falling asleep, but I usually do. But then I slept very deep and woke up refreshed and motivated! White tongue but no other detox symptoms or hunger yet.
I have to get groceries today, I hope I can keep being strong and not be tempted by food.

Day 2: Update

The second day was very challenging and at night I broke my fast and binged… got something from McDs :frowning_face: I know what went wrong though. I thought I could handle watching my family cook and eat and I put my nose to some of the food to smell it, and it really messed with my willpower. So I’m gonna try right away again and STAY AWAY from all foods, at least for the first week of the fast.

Day 1: July 9, 2022

Weight: 125.4 kg / 276.5 lbs
BMI: 36.6
Gain: o.4 kg / o.9 lbs

Well done so far. It’s all a learning experience, sometimes you will fall but just get back on as you are doing and it wi work out fine :pray:t4:. You have got this :muscle:t5:

No worries, that can happen a lot, just keep trying and you will do it. If it’s not happening then maybe do one meal a day, low carb for a few days then try again.
