Brett's day 2 journal

Really enjoying the fast today currently sitting at 43 hours in. Slightly tired but overall felt pretty good all day. I could smell my co-workers lunch and it definitely smelt amazing but held out strong. My co-workers are pretty accepting of what I’m doing but like to tease me which is fine (we’ll show them the results haha)

Planning to do go out and do productive activities with my fiance this weekend.

One thing I’m debating is if I should break my fast at the 18 day mark, I have an out of state work meeting from the 20th-24th where networking and food is a heavy emphasis… Or if I should bite the bullet and try to (maybe) go all 31 days, which will definitely test my will power. But who knows by day 18 I might not even care about food and the social impacts it has.

I’m so pleased you have had a good day  and that your work colleagues are supportive  teasing only means they care…

I hope you have a productive weekend and don’t over exhert yourself.

Considering your pondering I would say have a look into refeeding options… a 2 day window isn’t really long enough to build the bacteria you need to break down rich food…

Thank you so much for the support! It’s crazy how it feels SO much more time in my day but don’t know what to do. I don’t want to do activities I associate with food (Netflix/videogames) so looking for a productive use of my time when I’m home. So far journaling and watching fasting videos has been what I’ve occupied my time with

As for my predicament… I’m considering just fasting through it, but I wondering if my food addicted side is the one even considering breaking the fast

It maybe the social expectations which is pushing your mind there. Worse still it’s work expectations.
It’s not a habit but rather something you have accepted as part of the job.

We should be able to do what is best for our bodies and our minds

You have a few weeks to research and decide haha

Welcome to our fasting community.

First of all I kinda agree with @Cate_Alexandra on the length of the ReFeed time. But for myself personally, after my 40-day water fast I only was on Vegetable and Beef soup for a day and a half before I ate solid food (Chips and Fresh Shredded Beef Tacos) because a client gave me a bag, salsa and a tray for FREE for the holidays. BUT, i have an iron clad stomach. Number of inadvertent food poisoning incidents I could count on 1 hand over a 60 year life (not counting stupid alcohol inspired stunts) and have never had digestive problems. A friend of mine on this forum, after a 30 day, started with vegetable soup and feeling ok ate some cumber on day 1 of her ReFeed. So it’s up to the individual and how they feel. The common theme for us is take it slow. Eat and then see how you feel.

As for the networking meeting, if you want to continue to fast you can plead just getting over a case of food poisoning and carry a bottle of sparkling water with you to prove your point. Or just carry the sparkling water around which someone else did during a similar event she found that just the fact of being able to share “drinks” while networking she found no one noticed.

Hope this helps!

Thank you both so much for your feedback! This will definitely give me something to work with going forward. I hope to keep it going for the long term. Worst case if I stop breifly and do keto OMAD for the meetings and jump back on to fasting when I come back as was recommended by Yasemin on the facebook group. Thank you again!!

Definitely your food addicted side. Mine is the same. I can feel my body starting to work but my food addiction is begging me to rat! You cant give in. 1 thought will snow ball and lead to another. Just ask for help if you need it
