Bree’s accountability journal

Ok… I could go over all the wrongs I’ve done to my body, all the fasts I have started and not completed, all the diets I have tried, all the challenges that I was to join but did not follow through. It’s been a consistency battle for me, but no more. I turn 30 next month and I wanted to be in a better state physically. The best time to have started this journey was a while back, but the second best time is NOW so here goes!

I’m Bree, I have over 100lbs to lose, and I’m starting with a fast where I will be checking in as I go.

First goal- 7 day fast.

Hi Bree ! Welcome. This place has been great for fellowship and journaling to get all the crap out of our heads and not feel so alone. I have about 100 pounds to lose too (sucks for sure :frowning:) but feeling hopeful!! … I completed a 9 day fast and a 5 day and now just doing OMAD until I get my self up for something more extreme. Just take it one day at a time and every good fasting day and/or losing it to a binge i find a lesson and growth about myself in all of it. Just keep moving forward and we’ll eventually get to our goals !! Glad you are here :clinking_glasses::bouquet:

7 day goal is awesome and there is no time better than now. Its great that your posting as that will keep you accountable. You need a refeed strategy if you dont have one. You got this!

This is ultimately a lifestyle change.

You have a serious but achievable journey ahead.

  1. Get rid of trigger foods. Toss or donate to neighbors.

  2. Make sure you don’t have any appointments or dates ahead where you’ll be expected to eat or be tempted.

  3. Stock up on water

  4. Have some pink salt and/or electrolytes handy

  5. Have some bone broth ready for refeed and read up on refeed. For a 7 day fast you’ll want a 3 day refeed.

  6. Put stickies up. There’s a video on youtube about that

  7. Define your “why” and write it on paper. Stick that on your fridge and the bathroom mirror and all over.

There’s more but that will get you started. :slightly_smiling_face:

You may lose as much as 15 lbs - but keep in mind some of that will come back on the refeed. It’s water weight.

What you really lose will be 1/2 a pound of fat a day - possibly 2 as it sounds like you are over 200.

If you’re not going in fat adapted (low carb) you may get a headache. Just buckle down as it will go away.

Welcome here and good luck!

PS: we have a winter solstice slim down challenge if you’d like to join. You make your rules - we are all fasting our own schedules through December 22.

There are a very encouraging group of people here. And we’ve all failed and will fail again. But we’ve all had success, too. It’s always difficult for me to look at the whole amount of weigh I need to lose. I like to break it up into goals of 10 lbs so I don’t get discouraged. Good luck!!
