August is for Winners

I just started fasting 6 hours ago. I am fasting to improve my relationship with food. I have fasted previously the wrong way…while consuming sweeteners, zero calories sodas, etc. I just want to experience a few days without food. I plan to fast for as long as I can just listening to my body. A maximum of 30 days. I am nervous and anxious because I am hoping I can make it.

I plan to stay busy gardening, reading, taking long baths, selfcare, going for walks, sleeping, etc. I plan to drink tea , water, and sparkling water.

Welcome @Latonya_Morse, we are here to support each other. I have now passed the 5 days mark 123hours… Going as long as possible. You sound focused! You have got this :muscle:t5:

Welcome! I am relatively new here. I am just getting done with a 21 day water fast, I am on day 16…it does get easier the longer one fasts. I also joined Yasemin’s 7 day challenges, even if my personal challenge is longer than 7 days. Those daily, zoom chats help keep me straight! This is my 2nd 21 day fast. I had a one week refeed, in between the fasts, and will also do a one week refeed, then back onto my 3rd and final (for now, LOL…Christmas is coming) 21 day fast. I had an acute injury to my right knee and I needed not only to get the extra weight off the knee (60 lbs.), but I would also need to get an operation to correct the partial, tear of the ligament. On the first fast, after the 5th day, my knee pain went away. And the knee is getting better and better!!! Fasting heals. 21 days is really doable, it is not a whole month, nor is it a major, extended fasting. That is why I chose this protocol.
I will be fasting, except for the first week, all of August. In September, I will switch to Mon.-Fri. (until evening) fasting, and a limited time windown on Sat. and Sunday. I expect to reach my weight loss goal by November.
I am going to use fasting daily (OMAD) as a lifestyle, afterwards.
So, I will be here. And winning! …Like you.
I wish you every success!
