August- 30 day water fast Accountability

Hello everyone,

I just signed up today. I need a way to keep myself accountable. My plan is to complete a 30 day water fast. I’m on day 4/30 right now. I did a 7 day water fast a little while ago. Started at 170, lost 10 pounds, gained about 2 back which is assume is water weight. I’m mainly doing this for weight loss and to try and combat my major sweet tooth. Hopefully, this will help reset my taste buds. Yesterday was day 3, it was quite hard as I had to cook for the family, but stayed strong since I didn’t want to restart at day 1.

These are my stats as of now:
SW: 162 lbs
CW: 155.6 lbs
Height: 5’1

After the fast I plan to reefed for a week and then switch to ADF. I’ll try to upload once a day. Mainly, when I feel like I’m tempted to break the fast. Although it seems unlikely right now. I keep thinking about what Yasemin says that you have your whole life to eat the foods you love. It’s helping me stay motivated.

Thought I’d do an update, I don’t know why but my stats are up. I’m currently on day 5 now.
Weighed in this morning at 156.8 lbs.
I must admit I hadn’t been drinking enough water the first 3 days, I just wasn’t thirsty, and started to feel lightheaded. Just started taking in electrolytes on day 4 and upped my water intake to 2.5 x 16 oz bottles. Could it be water retention? It’s only a pound up, so I assume as much. There’s no way I can’t be loosing anything.
I admit it was a little disheartening, I might stay away from the scale for the next 2 days and see then.
So far so good, getting past the 3 day hump was tough, can’t wait to get to day 8, hoping it’ll be smooth sailing after that. No hunger, but I did dream about eating a burrito last night hahaha

Hello everyone,

Back with another update. I’m planning on breaking my fast in a couple of hours. I’m terribly weak and dizzy. My brain feels really foggy, which usually after day 4-5 is gone for me and it isn’t present to this degree. I have been having a hard time taking in enough water. Currently I’m on day 8. Day 7 I took in less than 500ml and day 6 passed with just a couple of sips which is unusual for me on water fasts. I’ve decided to break it as it isn’t going as well as I hoped. I’ll be ending it at 12pm so in about 2 hours.
I’m going to refeed for a week or 5 days and then hop on another extended fast.

My CW is 149 lbs. So a total weight loss of 13 lbs. I attribute a lot of it to water lost, since I’ve barely been drinking. This is supposed to be a water only fast, but is turning out more like a dry fast.

I’ll be breaking my fast with avocado, and will go buy ingredients to make bone broth when I have more strength. I think my mistake this time around was not taking in electrolytes right off the bat. That is what I did on my previous 7 day fast and the two 10 day fasts I had done last year. Those went by smoothly and had no issues with my water intake or weakness/ dizziness to the extreme that it is now. My lips are really dry and cracking as well. I’ve tried exfoliating them but I can tell I’m dehydrated more than anything.
I will post an update a couple of days into my refeed. I expect to gain atleast 4-5 pounds of weight back.
