Aru's Journal: No Motivation, Trying to get rid of the weight

Hello all,
I am not new to this group ir to the water fasting. Have done multiple water fasts in the past but the max I could do was for 7 days. Now, after 7 months of not fasting and totally letting go of my health, I weigh 81 kg at 35 years and 165 cm height.
I lack motivation, don’t feel like doing anything, I binge sometimes and that’s adding on to the weight. Really need some motivation here.

Started today, will try to log in the weight daily.

Started with intermittent fasting and will work my way upto the water fasts.
Weight today is 80.7 kg

Still on the intermittent fasting. I get cravings to eat potatoes, cheese and bread and have some tea too.
The weight today is 80.2 kg.
I hope I don’t fall back into it.

Day 4 of the intermittent fasting. The weight in the morning was 79.2 and since I had a heavy meal after fasting for 22 hours, the weight now is 80.6. I hope some of it comes off.
Saturday will be the last day of intermittent fasting.
Trying for a 36 hours fast today.

Day 5 of intermittent fasting. Weight is 79.5. Probably because of the high carb meal I had. Last day of intermittent fasting starting now. Will be starting with my water fast from Saturday evening.

Last day of intermittent fasting, current weight is 79.2.
Starting my water fasting journey now. Hope I can make it.
Hoping to reach 24 hours milestone first. I wish I get the willpower this time.

Yay! Awesome. Good luck on the start of the water fast! Take it hour by hour and when you get hungry sip some water then distract yourself. You got this!

24 hours into the fast but only 0.2 kg down. I am not hungry, no cravings till now. I was busy the entire day, so it helped. Fingers crossed for another day.

Day 2 of the water fast. Cravings cravings cravings…
I am not hungry, but I am craving for food. I have to move ahead. I have to power through. I am tired and sleepy. It is 2100hrs here so not checking the weight today, will check and update it tomorrow morning.

On Day three, almost 65 hours into the fast, surprisingly, the weight has shot up. When I started my water fast, it was 79.2 and currently, it is 79.4.
What am I doing wrong? Am I drinking less water?
This has never happened to me I almost want to quit, take a break and start all over again. Will wait till I complete 72 hours.

Oh no! That’s happen to me once before in the beginning of the fast! So discouraging but when I pushed through I lost like 3 pounds for like the next two days! This is definitely not an easy process. I absolutely depend on the scale for my reward each day on a water fast, and I get really frustrated when I do not lose. But our bodies are resilient so we have to be just as resilient. My plateau is coming so I am trying to mental prepare for it. Don’t quit, you will lose the weight!

Finally feeling better. Covid really sucks the life out of you. It was a break of almost a week. Hopefully, should be able to get back to fasting tomorrow, 27 Jan 2022.

About me: I am a 35 years old female with a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure. Obesity runs in my blood.
I have seen many ups and downs health wise but now really want to take charge of my health. I have really low self esteem, other than the physical ailments I have. I started with the fasting journey this year almost 15 days ago but had to give it a break since I wasn’t well.
I am not new to fasting, the longest I have fasted is 14 days, almost 3 years ago. I always find it a little difficult on first three days, that’s when I generally break my fasts.
I am aiming to go in for a longer fast this time.
Will update my weigh loss for records.

I had reached 78 kg 10 days ago but have gained 1 kg back in last 10 days.
Day 1: 12 hours into the fast
Starting weight: 79 kg
Goal weight : 57 kg

I have 22 kg to go, will get there slowly and steadily.

Day 2
I didn’t lose any weight, but since I experienced this before, I am ok with it. My body needs time and I am ok with it.
Last time, my weight didn’t budge for 3 days, it was highly frustrating.

Starting weight 79 kg
Today’s weight 78.5 kg

Day three of water fast, no brain fog, no headaches this time. Weight loss is slow, but maybe my body is getting accustomed to it.

Very very slowly, but ateast the scale is moving!
Do not feel hungry, no headache at all.

So tired! My back aches and I haven’t got up from the bed since morning.

I guess starting the water fast immediately after covid was a bad idea. Bad bodyache, fever, sore throat is pulling me down.
