Arunima' Daily journal

  1. About me:-
I am a 33 years old female. My height is 165 cm and I weigh 75 kg/165 pounds.

  2. Why am I doing this?
I started gaining weight after an injury in 2015 and have trouble keeping it off. Because I injured my hip and my lower back, excercise is a little difficult. I have a family history of hypertension and type 2 diabetes so it is important fo me to get rid of the excess weight.

  3. Short term and long term goals:-

Short term goals is to reach 150 pounds.

Long term goal is to reach my goal weight of 135 pounds and get healthy.

  1. Game plan:-
My game plan is water fasting followed by vegetarian diet and intermittent fasting.

  2. I feel happy to start this journey. I have tried OMAD and intermittent fasting earlier. I have done multiple water fasts but none of them above 65-70 hours, that’s when I quit mostly. But after repeated water fast, and they weren’t very long, my nut allergies have completely vanished. I would like to reap more benefits of fasting this time.

  3. I have shied away from getting my photographs clicked, I have edited those to make myself appear thin, I used to avoid meeting people and don’t go out much because of this. I wasn’t always overweight but bad eating habits and lack of excercise did this to me. I reached my high weight of 90 kg and then realized that this is the downfall of my health. Have been trying to keep the weight in check but really need to get to my actual healthy weight to gain my confidence back.

  4. I try to complete ten thousand steps per day.

Great job so far! I just restarted my Day 1 today after struggling earlier in the week. I’m 20 hours in right now. Got a slight headache and my stomach is rumbling but I know I’m not really hungry. Drinking lots of water to help. Good luck on your journey!

Good luck to you too!

Welcome to our fasting community!

FYI: I successfully reversed my T2 diabetes so it can be done through fasting. It took me 4 months and 5 days. I also dropped 81 pounds.

Day 3
Current weight 73.7kg
Starting weight 75kg
Weight loss/ Gain: -1.3 kg

56 hours into my fast. Woke up feeling a little tired, want to go back to sleep again. Today is going to be my real test as I can easily cross 48 hours but have trouble crossing 72.
Not hungry at all.

Edit: 68 hours into my fast, 2.5 hours away from my personal best. Had a normal day at the office. Feel tired and lazy, don’t even want to get up from the bed.

Feel tired, my legs feel as if they are made of stone. Not able to complete my daily step count. Headache creeping in but i will not let go of this. I have taken it upon me to complete the initial seven days. Won’t let minor things alter my plans.

Finally 72 hours completed, my longest fast so far.
I really am happy but the headache is slowly getting worse.

First, are you taking your supplements? Headaches are a symptom of a low electrolyte level.

Two, if you are it can also be a symptom of a slowing metabolism. Its only during the transition phase. Once the body is assured of a new energy source it speeds up the metabolism again.

No, I wasn’t taking the supplements, not even salt. Thank you for reminding me, will start doing so.

Day 5

Starting weight: 75kg
Current weight 72.7 kg
Weight gain/loss: -2.3 kg

No weight loss today and I wonder why. I was hoping to see the change in the scale but it did not happen. I have heard of the days when you see no changes but I didn’t know it will come so soon. Anyway, won’t lose hope and will continue the journey.
@Compdude, thanks to your advice, no more headaches today. I do feel a little tired though. Walking feels like a task.

Focus on the weekly average on your weigh ins.

Energy will be up and down. It’s the reason I kept my minimum walk to a mile. Some days I had to take multiple breaks. Part of the process.

Day 6

Starting weight: 75 kg
Current weight: 72.3 kg
Weight gain/loss: -2.7 kg

Finally on day 6. There is no lack of energy, the headaches have subsided and I dont feel hungry at all. I was presented with situations where I had to literary fight with people who were forcing me to eat but somehow managed to get through it. I haven’t told anybody that I am on a water fast, just told them that i didn’t want to have the unhealthy crap they were having.

The best thing is that my family is totally fine with my water fast and they constantly motivate me. But since I live where I work, my husband and parents are away from me. Here, I dont even want to tell my colleagues that I am onto something like this, as per them, I have already reduced weight(dude, I was highly overweight!) And reducing any further would make me sick(I am 72 kg for 165 cm and with a BMI of 26.7!)

So, I try to avoid my work buddies so that I can give more time to myself and being someone who isn’t generally happy in meeting people on a day to day basis, I am actually happy.
