Anna’s journal

End of day one for me since my refeed yesterday. I got some liquid minerals to add to my water, together with some salt, and i feel like it did help with my energy a lot! So far so good! :droplet:

Day three flew by just as quick, since I kept myself busy, and away from home!
The mineral supplements I got really made a big difference in the symptoms I usually get when fasting. I have lots of energy during the day and so far I’ve slept pretty good during the nights as well!

Day 4 started out great, but towards the evening I got a lot of urges, probably because of boredom. It’s hard but I’m staying strong though, one hour at a time…

I have several strategies for dealing with those situations:

  1. Take some Himalayan salt
  2. Be like Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, “Not Today!”
  3. Watch “Irish people try various food” YouTube videos
    Hope this helps!

Sweet of you to share those tips! Thank you!

End of day 5 for me! I had a looot of mental hunger today, but I made it!
I did it by putting up tiny goals throughout the day, such as ”fast until 11 am”, then when I made it there, I sat my goal to 2 pm and so on… my last goal was at 8 pm and at that point I felt like it wasn’t worth eating.
Setting up these tiny goals throughout my day made it feel less overwhelming when I couldn’t eat, it just felt like putting it in front of me for later. I’m proud that I didn’t give in even though it was a struggle!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I do the same when I’m struggling to finish my daily walks on days I don’t have much energy. I just focus on completing the next step.

It’s a great tool!

Day 6

Had the best morning in such a long time when I woke up rested and with no hunger or mental cravings. I spent the day studying until around 3 pm, and as soon as I wasn’t as distracted, the mental cravings came along. Did the same strategy as yesterday with my small goals of fasting an hour at the time and I made it! Bed time soon and my 7th day tomorrow! I’m proud of myself and everyone else who’s on this journey, no matter what day you’re on! :two_hearts:

7 days completed and I’m proud of myself. It’s a real struggle for me to be motivated though. These last 3 days have been mentally exhausting because of my lack of motivation and that little voice in my head saying that I can always break it and start over. But I know that I usually feel so miserable when breaking the fast earlier than my set goal and that disappointment over myself just get me more destructive and I usually just stop trying for a couple of days because I feel like I never succeed anyway.
Does it get easier?? It might be that I haven’t been as distracted as I was during the first days but I don’t have much energy now to distract myself with.
Anyways, my next mini goal is to get to day 10, so three more days!

Celebrate the WIN! :trophy: 7 days is great. I had to do a 4-day before tackling a 7-day.

Day 8 was soo much better than these last couple of days! Didn’t feel any urge to quit or give up today! So I guess I got an answer to my last post about if it’s ever gonna get easier.
Not expecting the rest of the fast to be as easy as today, I know it’s gonna be rough at times, but I think that it’s comforting to know that it’s gonna be both good and bad days, just like it is outside of fasting too!

Day nineeee, I’m feeling good! So grateful to have had two good days in a row, a few cravings here and there but nothing major! My skin is so clear now and I have no hunger pains at all!:pray:
Although I just realised I’m starting to get a tiny little Keto rash around my armpits, so I hope it won’t get much worse!
