28 day water fast beginning midnight 18th May

Nice to hear from.you salva and welcome to the group!!! I totally get what you mean, it can be really hard doing that first post. it’s done now and you can chill out n just be you n no need to feel self anxious or worry cause everyone here is amazing!!! I’ve Been here for 2 weeks n meeting people daily from all over the world encouraging me and supporting me. I’ve been watching lots of Jason fung on YouTube, I will get his book soon. I don’t tell people I’m fasting, people will freak out.

Over the years I’ve spent so much money on therapy, was it worth it? I don’t know. I never felt like I got exactly what I needed, but did I follow every direction with 100% probably not. There is so much emotional healing I need to do. My heart is broken, i miss a person who made me feel whole. I had a complete breakdown. My previous fasts have been more about losing weight. This one for me is really about healing. I really need some clarity in my life. I have big decisions to make. It’s really scary. I tend to procrastinate and just not make decisions because I feel anxious. I’m not in a relationship where I feel I can be the real me and be accepted. I feel like my emotions are always a bother.

I would be interested to see how many people see long term benefits for depression through fasting. It’s very interesting.

I’m on day 3 of fast, about to go through the difficult patch!!! Looking forward to getting over this hump and hope once Friday hits it’s smooth sailing !!!

I’m disappointed my work pants still don’t fit. I was hoping after a few days I could squeeze into them. I tried, I squeezed but it was not a good look hahaha plus the zip won’t go up so that would be awkward!!

Day 2 ‘Dinner’! Feeling good today. Day 4-5 are my struggle days so I will lean heavy on this group once I get there. Happy fasting y’all :blush:

On my 30m walk now. Energy levels are lower than yesterday. Walking up the hill is harder. Have been doing some visualisation of what I will look like and lots of thinking about maintenance. Will def get keto recipes and make sure only have healthy foods at home. Over past few months I’ve realised I have slipped and have been buying so much junk. The CV19 shopping threw a spanner in the works and I started buying so much processed food. Fresh food got a lot more expensive too. Need to gho back to shopping with a list and a well thought out meal plan.

That is what is on my mind as well! I really want to get back to keto, but in a more clean way. Eating keto can easily turn into snacking on a ton of cheese, pork rinds, and ‘keto friendly’ junk. My plan is to come back to food starting with bone broth and some fermented foods to introduce healthy flora into the gut. Then expand to keto friendly veggies, berries, then eggs and meat. I am planning on trying to avoid dairy, and ‘sugar free’ drinks and snacks. After doing 30 days of cleaning, it would be a shame to start filling up all that newly found healthy body with the addictive things I worked so hard to be rid of!

@Salva Welcome and I love your “why”…I know it must have been hard seeing all that illness in your family, but I’m glad you used those tragedies as motivation to do better in your own life. I believe the fast will be good for you, and you will reap many benefits, including the mental clarity that you seek…that’s why I’m on this extended fast too. I take long term meds for depression and anxiety and I really don’t like being on them. I want to free myself of these pharmaceuticals once and for all.

@Jessical Don’t worry keep trying those pants, they will fit soon enough…keep your eyes on the prize! I too am hoping I can get through Friday without a hitch and hoping it’ll be smooth sailing thereafter.

@Noverturff delicious looking dinner :grinning: :yum:. Keep up the great work…I’m coming to the end of my second day too and feeling good still. I’ve never tried a keto diet because I’m vegan, but I’m starting to see things around the world wide web about vegan-friendly keto choices…so I’m interested in looking into it. I need to cut the carbs out of my life…I am the worst vegan lol!

I’m feeling pretty good today, worked 10 hours, and even went for a 30-minute walk with hills. I had a gallon of water and 2 cups of coffee today (the coffee helps curb my appetite). May make some veggie broth from scratch and have that at some point per Dr. Fung. I haven’t had Himalayan salt in my water yet, but have been taking the other supplements which may be helping me stay focused.

@Mizqtpye I think I am going to look at it like 6 separate 5 day fasts! So come Friday evening then we just do that 5 more times! Somehow I feel this mindset will work better than looking at so many days and thinking how long that seems.

@Noverturff I totally agree…that’s how I’ve set up my fast. I only put post it notes up for seven days at a time and plus my fasting app only allows up to 7 day fast…so I am forced to set my fast at seven days at a time. Looking at the counter for 168 hours (7 days) going down does help me mentally, I’m already at 124 hours remaining…and you’re right, it would be a total downer to look at 720 hours counting down everyday lol.

@Mizqtpye Im vegan too, im thinking after completing the 21 day fast ill do a 5 day on raw food… I usually have messed up refeeds n i hv binge eating issues as well, oh well long way to go…

Im just so lazy i just feel sleep the whole except during at night :see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil: i wonder how you ladies are pushing yourselves to workout as well. Well done @Mizqtpye n @Jessical not sure if I missed out anyone else who are working out while you are fasting.

Hey everyone I know I am a little late to the fasting party but I was originally only going for a 7 day fast but 28 sounds like a worthy challenge!! I would love to keep up in this forum if you all would have me.

Last night, had crazy food thoughts, now Im doing ok. Here comes day 4!

I think for me, my starting time matters, I noticed when I start my fast late evening it gets more difficult, this time I started at 1.15pm right aft lunch I must say its much better then the last 2 fast which I started in the evening.
