21 day fast

Day one:
I started twentyone days of water fasting yesterday at ten pm and it is going well. I have done many 3-7 days fasts but this time I would like to challenge myself even more.
I like to think one day at the time instead of twenty-one days or else I will get overwhelmed. I was out on a run earlier today (3,5km) and it was as good as usual. I can feel an upcoming headache which is a result of me eating more carbs than usual, but I am getting through this.
After my run, I was in a sauna for thirty minutes and since then (two pm) I have been doing some homework for the next week of school.

Something I really have to focus on this time is:

  • You can eat whenever you want, but why now?
  • Food is fuel (you have a lot of fuel on your body)
  • Take one day at the time.
  • Do not let food take control of you, stop your addiction
  • Keep going until bedtime and you will be good the morning after.

Day two:
It is currently five pm and I am 43 hrs into this fast and it is still going well. I ran the same route today as yesterday and also took a long walk. I have been drinking water with Himalayan sea salt. I still have a little headache, but I reckon that it will get better soon. I know it is not always the best do work out while fasting but I recently started running and I really like it so I will keep doing it unless my body says no. I will go back to school tomorrow and I think it will make fasting easier because I usually do not eat in class or school in general, so it will make my mind busy.
I think a lot about food, but I think it is because of my family who are eating and the smell of the food is tempting. But I will not even think about breaking the fast due to temptation because that will just tempt me even more. Tonight my family will have my favorite food for dinner, but I have all my life to eat that again, so why would I break my fast to eat it now? I won’t.

Day three:
I kind of forgot how to edit the posts, so I will continue with updating about my fast in the comment section. I am currently about 69 and a half-hour into the fast. Yesterday I had trouble falling asleep and kept turning for about 2-3 hours. I also had a very bad headache, but luckily it was gone when I woke up this morning. I usually go to bed around 10 pm on a school night, but I was awake until 12.30 am. I woke up around 7 and I was not tired at all. I had a lot of energy while being at school today and it was amazing. After school, I was out running again (4,5km) and it went very well. Since then I have been to a meeting for about 3 hours and there I drank some herbal tea.
I am not hungry anymore, but I still get those “mental cravings for food”. But it helps me to think that I just have to go until tonight - and then just think that way every day until I hit the 21 days! Or at least till I am further than I am now. I hope that I will have the same energy as today in the next couple of days because it is so much better in school than being exhausted.

Be aware your energy level WILL fluctuate especially as you get deeper into ketosis. Just move slowly and take sitting breaks as needed.

In my earlier fasts, I have not felt this good so quickly, I would first have high energy on day 6 or so. But thank you, I will be more aware

I ended my fast early on day 12. I did not have the energy for my school and I started on the biggest assignment of the entire year last week. But yeah, I am still happy for me getting through the 12 days.

Congratulations! That’s a big achievement! :sparkles::clap: good luck on your assignment!

Congratulations on your achievement. Is it 11 days or 12 that you completed? Just curious.

Any way that was a smart decision as your upcoming school assignment sounds stressful enough without adding the stress of fasting on top of it.
