Hello,
This is my 10th time at least attempting a fast lol but yesterday I finally decided to take before pics and was extremely disappointed. I was always in shape and never had to worry about anything. Then I went to a college that had bad pollution it flared my asthma, allergies and gave me so many breathing problems that I am on steroids (either shot form or pill form year round). I literally had 3 steroid shots from Feb- June and I’m taking pills now as well and my appetite is increased to say the least lol. But no more I’m getting surgery July 1st which should fix any breathing problems I had and I am a month in on my allergy shots!!! I’m so excited to live normally again. But with that being said I am trying to get my life back and that includes all the weight I gained these past 6 years. The reason I want to start the 5th is bc I am finishing my antibiotics and steroids by then and I just don’t wanna risk feeling nauseous by not eating and end up quitting anyway. So right now the goal is to end on July 25th which I’m still debating bc I do have a wedding to go to that day but hopefully with covid going on it gets postponed. But even if it doesn’t as long as I can do between 18-21 days I will be okay! My biggest problem is the mental part. I LOVE sugar and I already know how I’m going to feel cutting it out bc I did it before for a month when I realized I relied on it too much and it wasn’t a good month for me or anyone around me. I also developed an addiction to iced coffee this quarantine even though I’ve hated coffee my whole life so we will see how cutting out caffeine goes as well lol. But I’m excited and I’m ready bc I can’t be the person who goes shopping and says I’ll buy it when I lose weight and never do. I can’t remember the last time I bought new clothes just bc I don’t wanna see how I look in it. But anyway if anyone wants to join please let me know bc I will need some accountability
21 Day Fast- July 5th
Welcome to our fasting community!
Welcome aboard!
Please take some time to research.
21 days is doable in the right mind frame, but do keep in mind - it wouldn’t be advisable to have cake at that wedding. A slow refeed is necessary to get the digestive tract working again.
Made it to 46 hours (which I’ve never done before) very proud that I made it that far but can’t help but feel a little disappointed in myself. All the symptoms that everyone was feel I didn’t feel besides a headache but that went away day 1. At this point it’s just hunger and it sucks that I can’t ignore it. I will be trying again tonight at 8 and this time the goal is to at least make it 3 full days and we will go from there.
If anyone has any tips please let me know
Drink lots of water, listen to your body and keep on finding out what is best for you! Fasting is a skill that requires lots of trial and error…good luck in your journey!
I just found out my vitamins have 2g of sugar and 2 g of carbohydrates. Does that affect anything ?
As per my research: Anything under 50g of carbs/sugar will keep you in Ketosis. Any protein will kick you out of autophagy.
So you’re good.
Awesome! Thank you!
Okay decided today maybe OMAD is the way to go since I have never fasted before I think I need to build up to it otherwise I’ll just keep breaking and starting tmrw.
