10 day water fasting buddy wanted

I started a 10 day water fast today. I’m hoping to find someone looking to motivate each other to push through. My longest prior water fasts were 7,10,14 and 20 day water only. So I know the amazing results, but lately I have been struggling to get beyond a couple of days.

I’m willing to push my fast longer to a 12-13 day fast, if someone sees this message after I’m a few days in. Then I can still match up with someone for 10 days.

Welcome to our Forum! You’re always welcome to join our Zoom Calls and our group chat for 1 week (and of course more) if you’d like! You can also come post here in your thread multiple times a day for accountability to yourself! It’s a great place to come journal your fasting journey and feelings!

Thanks Yasemin, I had replied to this message that came through my email, but it’s odd. I guess there’s a second way to reply as well. Thanks, I like both of your ideas. I will update on the 10 day thread when I have pertinent things to add to it. Regarding zoom, I would like that as well.

How are you feeling so far after completing day 1? :fire:

I feel good. I slept super long today, which is something I almost never do. It may be partly because I didn’t get a good nights sleep the night before. I do recall sleeping longer, though with many of my fast of beyond 24 hours in Beginning days. I always begin to feel incredibly Physically energetic In the first few days of a longer fast.

I don’t notice anything physically at this point that’s worth noting because I’ve done so many fast beyond two days, I know what to expect. for me getting past the day and a half point is a big number. then I feel time accelerates with this process. The big first goal is to get past day 3. then I will be fully in ketosis. my tongue will become whitened incredible healing will begin.

I hope some of the people that have never fasted longer can read some of these things and be motivated. I know the first three days is when the body kicks out most of the toxins. once we get past this point, the mind is incredibly sharp we feel incredible. I spent the majority of my day doing a variety, different things to keep busy, yard work and some other errands. I work from home so it’s easier for me to do this type of thing.

I will probably post more once I get past the 2 day mark or so. because I know this is where the significant things that are worth mentioning will occur. once I get past the 2 day mark, I tend to become laser focused on my goal as I feel better and more energetic.

Fantastic!!! Day one easy peasy, busy and in the bag!!! Keep on going :muscle:t2:!! Currently doing my cycling workout at 11pm while the littles are asleep so forgive my short response, doing a 45min and typing out of breath, will resume the ride without my phone to focus, just wanted to respond!! Keep it up!!!

Perfect!! Laser focus May 2025 :muscle:t2: summer here we come!

I passed the 2 day mark and slept well. I was very energetic again throughout the day and felt great. For me in the past, I never fully get to ketosis until the three day mark. so I don’t see any of the white marks on my tongue yet. I typically exercise for the first 2 to 3 days of a fast that’s beyond this period of time. so I may exercise again today, but beyond that I will just walk and try to meditate from time to time.
I still need to do my work, but luckily I can do it from home.

Yaseman, I assume you’re a moderator here on the forum. if so, you would have a wealth of knowledge. I’m a pretty knowledgeable guy about a lot of these things. probably done an additional 70 fasts of 1-2 day and hundreds of 16-18 hour fasts other than my longer fasts.
What are your thoughts about bone broth. I’m not intending to break the water fast for it right now. I plan to continue to do the water fast. however, I’m considering switching over later into the fast at about seven day mark if I feel weak. I need to keep doing things in my life. I know most people consider bone broth to be healthy, but I always welcome other peoples opinions about it

I completed Day 3 this morning and although I struggled quite a bit with a strong desire to eat, I fought through it. My tongue has scattered white spots and a nasty taste to it. It’s kind of gross, but I use a tongue scraper to clear it off. I vividly recall this experience as I’ve been through it many times.
I feel super sharp mentally and very energetic. I’m a big exercise person and I always exercise the first few of days of my longer fasts. so today will be my last day of exercise. I’m trying to keep the goal of day five in my mind to reach the halfway point. I’ll update any other things I feel when I have time to do so

I completed day 4 this morning. Today I felt a little tired a little after noontime, although my sleep was decent. The nasty taste in my mouth has subsided some, although there is a little of it. I do have the white marks on my tongue. I haven’t really weighed myself, but My stomach looks slightly tighter. I was probably max 6 lbs over my ideal weight. I am a body builder type, so I don’t have a lot of fat. I’m just trying to do this fast because I have wanted to do another long one for so long and struggled so many times, usually quitting just after 24 hours.
I’m proud I fought through the initial urges to quit, but today I had a similar incident. A customer called to complain about an order. Not something that was my fault and just the stress of the situation, mad me want to indulge with some food and break my fast., I had a bag of bread in my hand preparing to get ready to eat some and managed to convince myself to stop.

I ended my fast at 5 days and 7 hours. I found it to be too difficult to focus on my work. All of my previous longer fasts, I was able to clear a lot off my work plate so that there were not a lot of issues to deal with.
I have still learned overtime to give myself credit for any of the fasts that I accomplish. There is a lot of benefit that can occur in a 5 day water fast. I may give it another shot, but probably not for a couple of months.
