Hi Kim, hope all is well. I must confess - I was not feeling well yesterday and ended up breaking my fast at 98 hours mark. Restarting my clock today, aiming for 5 days this time.

I can only take it one day at a time, though I would LOVE to make 10 days! I’m still feeling very cold at various times during the day.

I struggle in this area - can hardly make myself to drink 6 glasses of water a day. Will
make it a priority this time.

I also have a hard time drinking a lot of water .
I end up drinking about 4 glasses. Sometimes 5. It just makes me feel bloated to drink much more than that.

Hey Nina, sorrry for not answering but I’ve moved and was really busy. I broke my protein fast after 7 days because I felt dizzy. Tomorrow I want to start again. This time I want to do 3 or 4 days of water fasting and 3 days of protein fasting. But again: I will listen to my body like last time

There is something I would like to ask: Why do you fast?
Of course, I am fasting for health reasons plus I gained around 13lb during the pandemic and trying to return to my norm. My ultimate goal is portion control and to to stop binge eating/stress eating. Once I am back to my normal weight, I am planning to limit fasting to 1-2 days a week.
What about you? Why do you fast?
Health reasons and longevitiy and to lose a bit of body fat. Just like you I gained some pounds during the pandemic. Binge eating is still a big topic for me and fasting is helping me to take a step back from it.
It’s interesting you mentioned longevity - I just finished The Longevity Diet by Valter Longo. Will definitely try MF after this fast.
What is MF?
Modified Fasting - under 400 calories per day. There are other versions - up to 1200 calories.
I was not feeling well yesterday and ate but limited it to 350 calories. Planning to fast today. It is tough - I am so stressed b/c of the situation in Ukraine. I am originally from Ukraine and all my family is there. Just keep praying for a peaceful resolution .

Modified fasting sounds good, especially when you’re already so stressed. And if you have to break your fast, this is okay too. You don’t want to put more stress on your body.
My last fast didn’t went well. I have started a new water fast 40 hours ago. When my body doesn’t want to water fast anymore, I’ll switch to a protein shake fast (plus some vegetables). I guess this could be called MF too
