Erica’s journal

Hi! I’m not exactly sure, I want to fast until I reach my goal weight and reset my relationship with food. The ideal would be to fast for at least 21 days straight!

Yes, that is what I want to do also

I ended up having to go to my mother’s yesterday for dinner so I started my fast last night, which means that I have been fasting for 24 hours now. My stomach hurts a bit but again, I think it’s because I had been fasting for over 48 hours and I didn’t break my fast properly even though I made sure not to indulge on anything.

I actually had an argument with my boyfriend who’s in med school and he doesn’t understand water fasting despite my attempts to explain it and back it up with everything I have read about it. He thinks that I will end up starving myself to death  Anyway I’m sure this week is going to be a good one.

Hi Erica, good luck. I have had a terrible week in terms of everything, emotions, stress, me etc and I have tried to restart and nothing. I don’t know what is going on :disappointed:
You can do it :muscle:

It’s weird how often smart people don’t get it! Keep it up.

Hi, Lorena!

I understand, I have struggled with emotional eating in the past so if you ever need someone to talk to I’m only a message away.

Je crois en toi!

Honestly he’s one of the smartest people I know and it saddens me how he doesn’t seem to understand this but oh well.

Hope you’re doing great Dave!

48 hours into the fast again. I had a really good sleep last night, woke up feeling energized so I ended up studying quite a bit for my finals.
I hope the rest of the week is as easy as the past two days have been!

My own primary doctor is skeptical. It’s the reason I recruited the Endocrinologist at the Keck School of Medicine at USC to consult with so I sympathize.

So I’m on day 4, I haven’t felt hungry or anything but I have been getting really bad headaches. I have been taking magnesium and pink salt, the salt makes them a little better but not quite? And my finals are coming up, I find myself with no energy and with my head hurting too much to study.

I’ll see how today goes but maybe I should post pone the fast to once next week is done and finals are over? I’m not sure.

I understand! I did OMAD those days but my advice is choosing the right food, I chose bad choices and that’s why it was difficult to restart again. Good luck with your exams!!
You can do it :muscle:

Thanks. Doing OK. Six days to go - I’m looking forward to some bone broth!

Finals are stressful enough. I’d postpone. Finals are the priority. I remember it always took me 1 to 2 weeks to recover after finals week from my university days.

I did follow your advice and broke my fast on day 5. I wasn’t just able to focus at all and my head felt like was about to explode. Next week I have exams literally every day so I might restart on Friday next week since I will only have a week left before winter break. Thank you for your support!

Evaluate where you are after finals. You may need a bit of recovery time before taking on the stress of fasting again.

Do it when you can rest a lot. This time around for me, I didn’t take the time to rest enough, and I feel my body was unable to enact all the healing ot could have done.

Thank you, David! I will definitely try to take it easy while doing my fast.
