Yes. I’ve seen improvements in both neuropathy and retinopathy symptoms. My big goal besides reversal of my type 2 diabetes is also reversing my Chronic Kidney Disease.
Elza's Daily Fasting Journal
I’m feeling really good today. I’m 24 hours into my new fast. So I’m pretty much doing fasts every 48 hours, more or less, eating one or two meals in between. This is working for me. At first, I was trying to build myself up to a 7 day fast, but I think I’ll stick to 48 hour fasts for a while, or until my weightloss stalls. So far I’m consistently losing .5-1 lbs Per day. Today I ordered some multivitamins and an Omega 3 supplement for eyes. I’m hoping this will help in the long term. Also, I want to be more consistent with my probiotic supplement.
Good plan. After I did my initial 14-day Potato Diet, I spent 2 weeks doing Intermittent Fasting, then OMAD and then transitioning to a Prolonged Fasting with periods of doing OMAD in between.
What is the longest fast you have done?
The one I’m currently on. Completed Day 11 today.
Good job! Longest I’ve ever done was 7 days.
Thank you. Though the reason I ended my 6 and 7 day fasts was because of a medical misperception. I’m a Type 2 Diabetic. Because of that I was wary of the risk of diabetic hypoglycemia. As a result I set a hard floor on my blood sugar of 70. When I dropped below that I ended my fast. Luckily I now consult with an Endocrinologist who is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He told me I could lower it to 40.
Broke my fast a few hours short of 48, but I’m ok with that. It wasn’t so much a willpower thing, but rather what time was most convenient. Being able to eat in peace while kids are occupied is a big deal. Ate some yummy food to break my fast. Salad, some beef, and stuffed mushrooms. Finished it off with a piece of cheese cake with zero guilt. This morning I weighed in at 218, which means I’m finally out of the 220’s! Yay! Less than 20 lbs until onederland! I’ve had a steady weightloss, and hopefully it continues.
Celebrate the win. Just remember that the hardest part is NOT the fast but the ReFeed period after. Look forward to see you journaling your next fast.
Congratulations!!! I can definitely see a difference in your face, your cheekbones are more defined. And you’re really pretty!!
Not feeling very motivated today. I indulged a bit this weekend, as a result my cravings have come back full force. I’m pushing through it though, trying to reach my 48 hour goal. Scale has jumped up a few lbs, but I’m trying to not let that discourage me. I know weightloss is not linear. Plus having more food in my system definitely affects the number. I’m trying not to obsess about it. Actually I’m curious if it will drop at the end of my 48 hrs.
I’m 24 hours into my fast and was doing great until my husband decided to cook a delicious stew, with searing meat and garlic smells permeating the entire house. My mouth is literally salivating, but I refuse to give in.
Damn, that’s hard but you got this!! Remember there will be delicious soup another time!
My flatmate cooked popcorn and the whole flat smells amazing hahaha.
44 hours into what I hope will be 72 hours. I have a headache today. Not feeling too great. I almost broke my fast today. I did lick some food off the spoon, when I was cooking lunch for my kida today. I had to fight the thought that I might as well break the fast. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Feeling pretty good today. Last night I felt horrible. I had a huge headache, and gave in and took a tylenol on an empty stomach. I had weird dreams all night, but woke up 1 lb lighter and feeling better. Also my time of the month started, so that may explain the sudden headache, despite drinking a ton of electrolytes.
Today I resisted the urge to lick the spoon when cooking lunch for kiddo. I think that really set me off on a struggle yesterday, by getting my stomach all excited to eat. So I’m reaching for 72 hours, but I’m going to be thoroughly tempted at dinner time today to break faat early. I didn’t time this 72 hours very well, and will reach goal at 11 at night… way too late to eat.
