40 Day Water Fast for Great Reset: Final Attempt

Wow you are a busy woman and that’s going to work in your favour during your water fasting journey

Great idea about cooking once a week, keeps temptation at bay. Speaking of temptation, I actually baked a chocolate cake for my best friend today and surprisingly I didn’t want to eat it. I’m not really an apple person but I was fantasising about biting into one haha

What languages are you learning on Duolingo?

Wow, that was great that you were strong with the chocolate cake!

I’m in a DV shelter temporarily at the moment, and I am surrounded by constant eaters and feeders. I mean CONSTANT. I’m trying to hang in there though. They have a meal schedule where someone comes in to cook during the week, they get cookies donated from a local bakery called Crumbl, and there are always cooking aromas since another lady staying here is always in the kitchen. It’s a bit much. I should be out into a place of my own very shortly, but it’s getting tougher to hold out at the moment. I do much better when I’m in my own space and able to control what comes in and out.

As far as Duolingo, I have 9 languages in my lineup. Italian, German, Swedish, Russian, Hindi, Latin, Polish, Spanish, and Portuguese. I’ve been focused mainly on 3 recently though, Italian, German and Swedish. I started Italian on Rosetta Stone a couple years ago, so I’m much further along in that than the others. Took German in high school, so I had a bit of knowledge there as well. All of the others I just started in December 2021. I figured I’d get to a certain level with the 3 I’m focused on first, then get into the others deeper.

Wow, you have some serious willpower to constantly be around food with all its allure! I hope you are able to move into your own space soon  also, smashing job with the languages, I could never get the hang them

Full disclosure incoming…I messed up yesterday evening :weary: we had family over for dinner and I just couldn’t stay strong, on day 14 too! I wasn’t even hungry, I just loved the smells and the sight of food. When I did eat I got full really quickly. The real issue was today, it’s like the hunger came roaring back and I had breakfast and lunch!

Now I have to pull myself together and from tomorrow I need to refocus and just carry on. Tummy feels heavy and strange (but at least the nausea has disappeared…)

How are you both doing?

Oh, I wish I could have held strong, but I caved too. I had chicken spaghetti not too long ago😩. Tomorrow will be my new Day 1. I’m going to finish that fast and meet my goals, dang it. I’ll just add pt. 2 to the main title of this post lol.

You made it to freakin’ Day 14 though, Kudos for that!!:clap:t5::+1:t5::hugs:

I’m not going to beat myself up about breaking it. I just need to re-strategize and get some Vick’s Vapor rub and put it under my nose when they’re cooking. Never giving up!:muscle:t5:

Haha oh no! Silver lining is that we’re on the same boat! Tell you what…I didn’t feel bad when I ate, like you said, no point beating yourself up about it.

Let’s just put today behind us and focus on tomorrow, our day 1!

We got this!

Yeah, I was real good about kicking myself when I was down after previous breaks, but not this time. I’m learning to be more gentle and patient with myself.

And yes, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives. I say that every day and try to leave yesterday in the past where it belongs. I just take the lessons, make some adjustments and move forward.

I hope you have a wonderful evening and Happy Valentine’s Day! :rose:
