40+ but still trying

That’s amazing!! Congrats!! :slight_smile::raised_hands:t3:

Well well…3 days later…I weighed myself and I gained half a kg, just by doing OMAD and eating between 900-1200 calories a day.
I felt so bad when I saw it this morning, that I ate lunch. Not much, but still. I have learnt these last few weeks that I also can go slow (slow and steady wins the race), but apparently I cannot handle weightgain when I did everything “right”. Sigh…

I should drink more water, that is for sure. But other than that… I’m 1,63 meter and approximately 98 kg. Surely I’m not eating too MUCH calories?

Any advice is welcome. I will try to jump back on the OMAD wagon tomorrow. And pray to God that a joined water fast starting March 1st will be feasable. With a daily pep-talk from Yasemine it MIGHT just work.

Thank you for reading and commenting xxx

As a former CPT (Certified Personal Trainer), I counseled my clients to focus on weekly averages and the overall trend. It’s NEVER a straight line. Just have faith in the process.

Managed to get back on track. Endulged some this weekend, but not too bad. I did have some SERIOUS headaches/bordering migraine Sunday night :exploding_head::exploding_head:
Today I did OMAD and trying to go as KETO as possible this week. Just to try to minimize the stress on my body when I start the WF March 1st.

Looking forward to Yasemin’s lives as well, they help me, pick me up, keep me going!

bye lovelies xx

I’ve been doing good this week doing OMAD and keto. But today I al visiting My dad for his birthday and he’s treating me and the kids to going out to a pizza place. I Will look and see if they have have healthier keto options, I hope so…
Who else is from Europe and is also having their last meal today before the fast??

Welll…I had sparkling water, meatballs, no dessert…but I dus have some potato wedges. Nothing to be done now. I’m not letting that ruin my keto- week and my WF start tomorrow!

Well, I DID start on Monday, and I managed to WF for 5 days, 120 hours. And then it went all downhill from there. I cannot manage to get back on track, nog OMAD, let alone Keto.

I think the reason I succeeded beginning of March, was because I mentally prepared for it. The March 1st challenge was talked about, and discussed.

So, this week there is some heavy construction being done in my house (by a single person, appropriate with the Corona guidelines of social distancing).

I Will mentally prepare for starting OMAD March 29th…then try to ease into KETO OMAD…and hopefully a new WF challenge will start with Yasemine :blush:

Keep strong…and healthy… xxxx

Celebrate the WIN! You’re right, a BIG part of being successful at a prolonged fast is the mental game. That’s what I’m detailing in my new DJ covering my current 21.

Look forward to reading your next entry.

@Compdude, you are so supportive, but I failed, I didn’t start March 29th. Today, April 24th, I’m still planning and thinking and wanting…but not starting.
Constructions have increased in my house, I had to move in with my ex-husband with the kids, I think for another 2-3 weeks. Luckily we get along, but it’s stressfull nonetheless.
I hope to post soon “I began!!!”

No. You had to adjust to an environment NOT conducive to fasting at the time.

Wait until you are in a less stressful situation that will support success instead of continually battering your head against a locked door and the blaming yourself on your perceived failure.

I look forward to that time to reading your posts again.

@Compdude, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am currently 86 hours, 43 minutes in on my WF. Somehow I managed to start!!
I’m feeling quite weak, although I consume 1 table spoon op pink Himalayan salt per day, one tablet of potassium and one tablet of magnesium.
My situation is still stressful, maybe even more so, but I so hope to make it to a week. Although Mother’s Day is on Sunday, and I know my kids will prepare me something, and they are too young to understand this WF thing that I do, I don’t want to disappoint them :flushed: :flushed:
If I decide to stop for that special day, then I will have done 6 days. Still a record though, my longest WF was 4 days, but I messed up the refeed.
Thank you for reading, thank you for the support, and any advice you can give me!

Don’t put a limit on the salt. If you feel more, take more.

Congratulations on your progress. You will make it since you have something to look forward to and nothings more rewarding than celebrating a personal accomplishment with family.

When I constructed my treatment protocol one of the major principles is “Simple and Sustainable”. Part of sustainable is to incorporate family events like Mother’s Day. Otherwise, what are we striving for? Focus on being an inspiring model for your children and you will eventually get to your goal.

One of my motivations is hearing success stories like yours and knowing I played a small part.

I did 5 days. I felt week and uncomfortable. Still proud, since it was my first 120h fast ever. Just stretching the muscle
Then I did keto OMAD, also today on Mothers Day, and I enjoyed the meal with my family.
So I restarted fasting at 2 PM this afternoon. Aiming again for at least 5 days, depending on how I feel.
I don’t weigh myself, of I haven’t weighed myself since I started on May 3rd. Am not planning on weighing myself anytime soon. Maybe after a couple of “fast- OMAD” cycles I will. I will post that here ofcourse.

Here is a picture of my face during my 5 day waterfast.

wow, what a difference in just 5 days!!
